Questions & Answers

can you attach to concrete floor?

can you attach to concrete floor?
Asked by: al
Yes, I did. Just make sure you strike nails squarely. Concrete is not as forgiving as plywood subflooring is. I didn’t have an issue, but I used to install flooring for a living.

Can this be bent?

I'm installing vinyl flooring inside my entry door, and its going to transition to carpet.. I'm looking for a gripper that I can bend into shape, to match the sweep of the door.. I've seen other entry ways like this, but not sure what kind of carpet transition to get. Thanks
Asked by: TimC
Yes you can bend it but not like into a circle because it weakens it and might snap. You can bend it with a pair of pliers.

Listen to me, I was a floor layer for 20 plus years. You need a hacksaw to cut through the top face part and a little of the flat spiked part and then you can bend it but if you try it without cutting it first you will kill the bar. Trust me

Once the strip is in place how do you bend the metal part exposed down to mesh w the floor, instead of it sitting upward

Asked by: Laurel
Bend down with mallet to trap carpet under edge.
