2 questions 1st can I lay this directly over concrete? 2nd how do you cut it to size and what do you use o do so?
Asked by: Joe
Yes this can and should be placed directly over concrete preferably cured concrete. a wood subfloor in good condition works as well. I cut mine with a simple paper cutter my wife had in the cabinet. Scoring with a razor knife works too. Just score it from the back and bend it to break. MAKE SURE that the first line you lay down is absolutely straight! Popping a chalk line works - Good luck

Is this suitable for kitchen use? Under refrigerator?
Asked by: BigBen
I wouldn’t hesitate to put it in a kitchen or under a fridge. We used it in our craft room and installed a sink on top of it. It’s absolutely gorgeous and we get so many compliments.

We had 20 year old carpet in two rooms that needed to go. This was super affordable and I could do it myself. I vacuumed really well after removing the carpet and tack strips. Then I used the Henry floor primer. I had no problem with the planks sticking. I took my time installing - shuffling the pieces around so the patterns were mixed up nicely. It probably took me longer than most to install - about a full day for each room after floor prep. Buy kneepads too and save your knees :) The money I saved I spent on an area carpet. Nice clean flooring that looks great!!!

The Traffic Master vinyl peel and stick vinyl planks were very easy to install over 4x8 plywood sheeting. Because the vinyl is thin avoiding surface distortions requires the use of leveling compound to smooth seams and knot holes. A gallon of leveler took care of leveling all of the floors in my 34 foot motor home. The new floor looks like wood, cleans very easily like vinyl and the old dead carpet is gone! Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous! You can do this!!!! Everyone thinks it is real wood, and they are blown away that I installed it myself! I am so proud of the flooring, it makes my home look rich and new. The size of the tiles are easy and quick to install! You can't beat the price either! A novice can afford to buy an extra box to offset their learning curve. (I used a ruler, plan old scissors, and a tube of walnut-tinted wood putty to fill gaps around any difficult cuts. Now, I admire my new floors with a big smile on my face! Awesome!!!

I was looking for quick and cheap solutions, wandering Home Depot, saw this, bought it on the spot, took it home, laid it down, and fell in love. One boy's bedroom down (on tight particle subfloor). Decided to put it in the girl's bedroom (concrete), which turned out beautifully. Decided to put it in the rest of my house (haven't yet). That's how much I love it. It wears well. It DOES scuff, but you have to be working really hard or have very heavy furniture you can't get sliders under because you're not strong enough (koff). It sticks like the devil (add Liquid Nails and it'll have to be detonated to get it up). NOBODY can tell this is vinyl. I mean, I can, but I laid it. My eyeballs can't if I squint just right, but my feet can definitely tell. I have gotten nothing but compliments and gasps of shock when I say, "good ol' peel'n'stick tile." The grains and knots are nicely varied (I counted about six major repeats with quite a bit of minor variation). Now, mind you, if this came in something of a more reddish flavor, I'd have gotten it, so the only nitpick is it's a teensy bit not red enough, but it's still beautiful. I'm not gonna quibble about a shade. Quick'n'dirty solution turned out to be way more awesome than just a quick'n'dirty solution, so I wrote my first Home Depot product review.

At $0.89/sq ft, nothing out there provides as much bang for your buck. Installation couldn't have been easier, and the look is fantastic. A few tips for installation: 1 - Be obsessive about how clean the floor is. Debris on the floor can impact how flat the tiles lay, how tight they fit together, and how long the adhesion lasts. I swept the floor multiple times, primed as recommended, and noticed dust and other debris had somehow settled as I was laying the planks. Use a masonry brush or small broom to quickly sweep away any debris prior to laying each plank. 2 - Definitely prime the floor. I primed throughout the room with the exception of in the closets. The tiles clearly adhered better to the areas that I had primed. 3 - Snap a chalk line to begin. The laying of the planks goes incredibly quickly, but if you don't make that first line perfect, by the time you get halfway through, you could start to notice some gaps. 4 - The planks cut very easily. I found that the most effective way to cut them was to score the back side with a razor blade by using a framing square. You can then bend them in so that the tops will be touching each other. You'll hear a snap as you do this. Quickly run the blade along the printed (top) side to detach. Done. Make sure you always put your cut edges against the wall. The floorboards will cover any imperfections in your cutting. Never put the edge you cut anywhere but next to a wall so that you can ensure a tight fit all along each row. 5 - There are a few recurring patterns on the planks. Some of the planks are identical and other planks are different, but have an identical knot or other feature. Pull out multiple planks and be intentional about their placement so you don't have the same knot numerous times in one area. 6 - Make sure you stagger adequately. I found that the easiest way to ensure a good stagger was to do it in 12 inch increments. Start with a full plank. Next, take a plank and cut it into a 12" and 24" piece. Lay the 24" piece next and the 12" piece last. Those will be the start for your first 3 rows. Remember to put the cut sides against the wall. Repeat this pattern all the way along and you'll have a professional look. When you get to an opening like a closet, make sure to feather the stagger. This will help you to avoid having one big seam down the opening of the closet. 7 - Apply sufficient pressure along all edges of the planks to ensure proper adhesion. I used a rubber mallet to pound along the seams of every row as I went along. This method required minimal extra time, but the floor looks flawless. I tried peeling up one of the planks after having pounded it with the rubber mallet and it was nearly impossible to pull up with just my fingers. Cheers! Enjoy your project. Thank you Home Depot for carrying such a quality product!
