Product Overview

Each tile is made with 75% recycled rubber, including Nike Grind rubber. The tiles are designed to provide the requisite resilience and cushioning for a safer and comfortable exercise session. As a natural sound dampener, the rubber tiles will cut back on the noise and vibration. The tiles feature randomly distributed colors, reflecting excess material collected during Nike footwear manufacturing. Designed with an interlocking edge pattern you have unlimited options in terms of the shape and size of your fitness surface. Each unit comes with 6 tiles and enough edges and corners to cover a total surface area of 14.32 sq. ft. You can join multiple packs together to cover any shape or size exercise room. The modular construction allows you to cover around corners without any cutting and trimming, while the straight edges give the tiles a finished look.

This works pretty well. I'm using it to seat a rowing machine in a multifamily building. It's true that coloring can vary between pieces as noted by the manufacturer. Pieces mostly fit together well; there are a couple interlocking points that have small gaps, too minor to matter for my application. I think it dampens vibration well enough; it passes a super simple test where using the machine on the tiles doesn't trigger a computer mouse a few feet away when it definitely would when using just using a yoga mat instead. I'm not sure how well it absorbs noise but I haven't heard any complaints from my somewhat irritable downstairs neighbor. I think my biggest complaint is that the top surface "coating" doesn't have thorough coverage on a couple tiles, which exposes the composite rubber pieces and might affect longevity. If I knew what that coating is I'd just apply more of it myself in those areas. Photo shows the color differentiation, gap in the lower right, and exposed rubber near the bottom.

Working out at home just got easier on the knees. Many of us have home gyms these days, and these tiles are perfect for creating an exercise room floor. The Traffic Master rubber floor tiles from Nike are made from 75% recycled rubber, mostly from their manufacturing process – in fact, for a week or so they will have a slight odor of new sneakers. Each tile is designed to interlock with another like a puzzle and measures 18 x 18 inches square. It takes some effort to get them to lock together, but once locked, they stay together tightly. There are 6 tiles in a box, along with end and corner finish pieces to create an approx. 3x5 foot edge finished work out area. You can vary the length versus width to suit your needs if using multiple boxes. Combining two or more boxes gives you greater coverage. Each tile is 8 MM thick, or just over a ¼ inch thick, providing excellent cushioning and impact resistance (like dropping a weight!). They cut down on noise as well, especially if placed over a wood floor or when running in place. Great for use over concrete too. The multi-color speckled tile’s color varies by box, as I used two boxed and one was a darker grey than the other, but they look fine combined. These tiles provide a floor that significantly reduces the wear and tear on your body when working out, especially is doing a cardio routine. Durable and well made, the rubber keeps a firm grip on your existing flooring surface, these do not move – which is important and safe.

Got these flooring tiles for the shed. I planned to have them in the shed for softening my floor when doing work. My son beat me to the punch and put this in the kitchen. I am working on getting these out of the kitchen so I use them. The problem is the cat, the wife and the kid love it on the floor. It is a wild color but I have to admit it is the most comfortable mat I have stood on. It is firm but forgiving. It is super durable and sheds water. Easy to put down - hard to get back from your family so get it and take to where you are using it or you will be buying more.

This is an excellent product. It easily snaps together and the outside edges are held with interlocking pieces on one end and a straight no interlocking edge. It would be easy to do a garage, patio, etc., with this in no time. It appears very durable. we are now using it on the edge of our RV steps and it just doesn't come apart, it is sturdy. There are many uses for this. The only caution is the original smell, it is extremely strong due to the rubber content. We let it stay outside for a four days and I wiped it with a lemon scent cloth. Still needed a few more days to keep the heavy smell out. Now it is good.

Our floor is all porcelain tile, which is very hard. The wife has a roll up exercise mat which is 1/8” thick, and the material is much softer. Unfortunately, being so thin, it has little cushioning on our hard floor. This mat is 8mm (about 5/16”) thick, and much denser. It’s designed for a weight room, and I expect it would be pretty good for that, as the material is very firm. I weigh a little over 200 pounds and put most of my weight on my thumb, to see how much deflection I could get. The best I could tell is that it was about 1/16” inch. We put our two mats on top of each other, and that combination is pretty good for exercising, (like sit-ups). The mat is made from recycled rubber from Nike footwear manufacturing. They note that colors may not be consistent from box to box, due to recycled content. The dovetail joints fit tight, probably a slight interference, so the seams hide nicely. Negative issues if you plan to use for an exercise mat: 1. The mat is too firm to be used for an exercise mat. 2. It doesn’t roll up without pulling apart. It’s designed to be a permanent installation on a floor. I think the mat is even too firm to be used in your wood shop. I’m going to rate this as a mat for a weight room (which is what is suggested on the box). With that in mind, I’d give it 5 stars. If your thinking of using it for exercise, I’d rate it 2.

TrafficMaster 18 in. x 18 in. Rubber Gym/Exercise Flooring Tiles These flooring tiles are industrial quality. They are very firm, actually almost hard. They are probably great for a weight room. I had intended to install these tiles in my workroom to add a bit of cushion to the floor but unfortunately the rubber smell is very strong. I decided to assemble them in my garage and let them air out for a bit, it has been almost a month and when I enter my garage I still have a rubber odor. It does not appear I will be able to move them inside my house. As to exercise other than weight lifting you might need to be careful, these tiles have a strong grip and there will not be any slip or give with your shoes. I will say they provide a good surface for working on projects. I was building a cabinet and did much of the assembly on the tiles, they worked great for that. My tiles are a dark color and when I dropped or laid something small on them it could be very difficult to locate the item. The mix of colors in the tiles really hides things. Installation was easy, assembles like a large jigsaw puzzle. The pieces fit together snugly and you can barely see the joints. Pros: Heavy industrial rubber material, easy install, great for weight room. Cons Strong rubber odor. Very hard.

I put these rubber tiles in my garage for my kids and I to "share". I use them when working on projects that require getting on the ground and my kids use them play, dance, and perform some exercises. I think they use it far more than I do though. The tiles go together easily and stay connected very well. They have a good amount of grip so don't try doing spin moves or you'll roll an ankle. They're definitely good for a weight room/ gym floor. Each set comes with six tiles and the perimeter pieces which means you don't have to cover your entire floor in the tiles, just where they're needed. For the downside there are two major issues: 1. The smell of petroleum-based products is overwhelming at first. It took almost a week in the garage to finally air them out. 2. The pieces are not the same thickness. The outer edge pieces are not the same thickness as the inner pieces. Just a quality control issue.

Having just walled off a small area of garage for a shop to sandblast & powder coat I knew I’d want something to stand on vs. straight on the concrete floor based on amount of time on my feet thus far and to come. Since the product overview said it provided cushioning as well as cutting back on noise and vibration, I thought this would work well in my shop area as flooring. Being rubber I don’t have to worry about spills. I’ve only worked on it a few times since install and don’t see a big difference in noise level but can feel the difference on my feet and legs vs. concrete alone. The box I received has a lot of red color throughout. It went together with a small degree of difficulty which I was happy for as it made for an extremely tight fit, no gaps or spaces. There is very little visible seaming and well as no seams sticking up to catch your feet on when walking upon it. You just interlock the pieces together. As a note: you will want to pay attention to the sides (top or bottom) while interlocking as there is a noticeable difference and once done very visible if you didn’t keep like sides together. I like the edges & corners for a nice even edge all the way around & additional packs can be added, as I have the spare money; until I have covered the entire working/walking area of the shop. It allows me comfort in the area I stand the most until I get the entire floor done! I’m not sure if I will need to custom cut but am glad it’s an option as I add on pieces. Very pleased, highly recommend.

Each tile is made with 75% recycled rubber, including Nike Grind rubber. The tiles are designed to provide the requisite resilience and cushioning for a safer and comfortable exercise session, however I elected to use them in front of my lathes to ease the strain when working on the machine and also to protect the floor from dropped tools and hardware. As a natural sound dampener, these rubber tiles also cut back on the noise and vibration when the machine is running. The tiles feature randomly distributed colors, reflecting excess material collected during Nike footwear manufacturing so do not be concerned if there is a variation from one tile to another. These tiles are designed with an interlocking edge pattern, which goes together very easily. With this design one has unlimited options in terms of the shape and size of your floor surface. Each boxed unit comes with 6 tiles and enough edges and corners to cover a total surface area of 14.32 sq. ft. You can join multiple packs together to cover any shape or size exercise room. The modular construction allows you to cover around corners without any cutting and trimming, while the straight edges give the tiles a finished look. For my application I needed some additional edges and corners, which they do not sell separately, thus I had to get a full box and ended up not using some of the tiles. I am very pleased with this product.

This set of interlocking gym mats comes with (6) 18x18 inch tiles, 6 edge tiles and 4 corner pieces. Once fully assembled, the mat measures 37.5 x 54 inches. I didn’t have a scale to weigh the box, but I’m guessing it weighed about 20 lbs or so. It took me about 10 minutes to assemble one box of tiles. The mats have a very strong smell – almost like a new tire. I could smell it as I was on my hands and knees assembling it, but didn’t smell it as I was standing on them after. I assume it’ll wear off after a few weeks (we’ve had them sitting out for several days now and no change in smell). The front and the back of the mats look very similar. I realized after locking a few of them together that I had them upside-down up, so look for that before you start. The back of the box says you’ll need a utility knife, straight edge, pencil, tape measure, and rubber mallet. I didn’t use any of these. Granted, I installed only one box and wasn’t looking to fit it perfectly into a designated space – the open space in my garage worked just fine. A rubber mallet would have made things a little easier, but it really wasn’t too difficult using just my hands. The pieces fit together very tightly. I don’t see them moving at all during use. The tiles are stiff and very dense; not something you really want to lay or sit on while working out, especially because the texture is a little rough/bumpy. That texture is great for anti-slip though (keep you from slipping in your own sweat – ha!). I dropped a 25lb weight on the mats from about 6 inches off the ground. The weight did not bounce like you see out of some other mats and neither the weight, mat nor ground under the weight was damaged. When dropped, the weight didn’t make an awful sound like it was about to crack (as it would if you dropped it straight onto the concrete). If you’re looking for a gym mat to stand on while working out that will protect your weights and flooring underneath, I would recommend these mats. They would also be good in front of your tool bench or in front of your washer/dryer – really any place in the garage or patio where you’d like a cushioned surface to help cushion your feet, protect your floor or help quiet things down.

I got this rubber gym flooring for use in a workout area in my garage. It snaps together into 14 square foot matt that is about ¼ inch thick. It is made of recycled rubber and provides cushioning for various exercises. It is perfect for my custom made “jump up box” that is a 24 inch cube. The modular construction allows you to make custom shapes without any cutting and trimming. It has Multi Colored Specs/Light Gray Base.

Good quality solid rubber gym flooring tiles. The box of tiles weighs around 20 pounds and provides a little over 14 square feet of coverage. The tiles themselves are only .34 “ thick but provide a nice cushion while still being firm at the same time. I know I just contradicted myself, but they feel extremely solid and will provide a great gym flooring solution for your home gym. I like that all the edges and corners are provided and don’t need to be purchased separately.

Tough flooring and easy to install. These interlocking flooring mats are ideal for a weight room or even a workshop/garage. Each box gets you six 18” tiles, four corner pieces and six edge pieces. This allows you to create a rectangle. 54” x 37½” About 14.3 sq. ft. in area. Of course a larger area will call for additional boxes of tiles, and there is a table printed on the box that helps you calculate how many boxes you need to buy. When using multiple boxes, some of the edge pieces will not all be used, but if you divide the area (in sq. ft.) to be covered by 13.5 sq. ft. you should be fine. The mats are made from ground up rubber so you get all sorts of colors that may vary from box to box. I find the colored particles blend together nicely into a uniform gray color. You can see the color of the actual tiles in the box in the store. They go together easily and I found I could get them to mate together easily by simply stomping on the joints. The box shows some tips for starting in the middle of the room to be tiled and how to cut them with a work knife. Made in the USA

These Trafficmaster rubber gym/exerciser flooring tiles are nice looking and appear to be well made. The interlocking pieces go together to form a tight overall look and do not easily come apart. The recycled material has a nice appearance and I think the rubber odor will go away after they have been installed for a while. I intend to use these as to prevent foot fatigue in front of our garden work bench.

Very durable flooring. Great for gym floor or workout area, also good for a kids play area. The material is shock absorbent so weights dropped don't cause damage or 'bounce' Absorbs sound so you won't be disturbing others around you. Assembly was super easy, like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Once assembled the pieces stayed put without shifting while used. Comfortable to sit on (yoga) and good for aerobic or callisthenic exercises (less shock on knees and ankles).

I received one box of the Trafficmaster rubber gym/exercise floor tiles on a tryout basis. The box contains 6 interlocking puzzle-piece shape tiles which each measure 18 by 18 inches. You also get 4 corner pieces en 6 edge pieces. Fitted together you get a mat that is 54 in long by 38 in wide, and just about ¼ inch thick. The tiles are made of rubber and include 75% post-industrial recycled rubber including from Nike footwear. The tiles are mostly black but you can see numerous specs of white and colored rubber woven in. The tiles appear to be quite sturdily made from densely pressed rubber. They are also slightly bendable, which helps to fit the tiles together more easily, although at times I had to push quit hard. One box of these tiles was just about big enough to put our small rowing machine on top. I think these tiles are comfortable enough for floor exercises, although you may find them too hard for, say, sit-ups. I was disappointed to find out, when putting the pieces together, that my box was missing two of the edge pieces (see my pictures). I think they may have fallen out during transportation as there is a rectangular cutout in the original box (presumably so you can feel the material before buying?), which was not wrapped in an extra shipping box.

The Trafficmaster rubber flooring tiles is a nice addition for my basement mini gym. I really like that the bottom surface is quite rough. The tiles are also really heavy so when you combine the weight and the rough surface they do not move at all. The top surface is smoother but rough enough to be slip resistant. The edge pieces give it a nice finished look. One box does not go very far however so plan you space accordingly. They are actually a challenge to piece together but once they are assembled there is no movement.

I suppose this is a good use of leftover rubber used in making shoes. I think they rely too much on the Nike Grind like being affiliated with the shoe might sell more flooring? Anyways, the color is very random. I'm not sure how it compares box to box, but they warn that it can vary depending on the rubber used in each production. Probably would want to get all you need for your project from the same pallet/lot. Pushed together easily, 1 box was all I needed to make a rubber mat to stand in while working in my shop. Most of the joints were tight, there were some that the cut was off slightly, or I really had to use more effort to get it together. I could see how this type of flooring could be very beneficial for lifting weights, a hobby I don't generally participate in. 1 box comes with the 6 tiles, 4 corners, and 6 straight edges.

These are some very nice fatigue mats/floor tiles. They lock together easily into the shape you need, and cut well using razor blade and a straight edge. They come with a finished edge as well as corners, (see pics below) I used mine to run a strip in front of the kitchen area of my R/V. They are extremely comfortable to stand on with or without shoes. The dog likes to lay on them as well. I think I will be ordering more of these for my garage workshop.

312936582   These interlocking floor rubber tiles are pretty solid and really protect our laminate flooring. Pretty easy to put together and you will certainly will need to use a blade to trim off some excess rubber on a couple of pieces in order to interlock the corners and tile. I'm very pleased on the amount of cushion and protection. It's water resistant and made of recycled rubber. Four corner edge pieces, six straight edge pieces and six interlocking 18" by 18" tiles are included in this pack. I've used this rubber floor for our treadmill and occasionally for weight lifting. It covers a small area of 14 square feet. It's perfect for a small area. It's comes in white and multiple color pattern. I'm suprised while I do my sitting or standing dumbbell sets I don't creat any vibration or any sound while placing my weights onto it. This is seriously the perfect gym floor for our small space. I will need to purchase another set in order complete for a larger area. This flooring is made for indoor use only.

If you are looking for good quality and a sturdy flooring material for a gym or play room, the TRAFFICMASTER 18 IN. X 18 IN. RUBBER GYM/EXERCISE FLOORING TILES WITH NIKE GRIND (14.32 SQ. FT.) (6-PACK) COLORS WILL VARY, MULTI COLORED SPECS/ LIGHT GRAY BASE is a great option. Easy to install, like putting together puzzle pieces, and very durable. Each box comes with nine 18x18 inch tiles, six edge pieces and four corner edge pieces. One box makes a 3’2”x 4’6” mat. However, additional boxes can be fit together to increase the size, but I would bet you end up with extra corner edging. Overall, an easy DIY project.

These TrafficMaster weight room rubber tiles are much heavier and more dense than I expected them to be. The package contains 14.32 square feet, with 6 tiles, 6 edges and 4 corners. Some cutting of any or all parts will be needed with any configuration that you choose, but is done fairly easily with a standard utility knife and a straight edge. To give you an idea of how these tiles feel, they seem to be about the density and feel of car tire rubber, and are 8mm thick, or about 5/16 inch. They press together quickly, sort of like a jigsaw puzzle, although some will require a bit of force or tapping with a rubber mallet. I did find that there are a couple outer edge seams that had a slight gap, even though they are setting on a perfectly flat floor. The will stay in place without slipping around and don’t need glue or tape. I didn’t notice any odor at all, not rubber smell and no chemical smell, and they seem to be easy to clean. They do the job of providing cushioning for weights and protecting the floor, as well as cutting noise, but are hard enough that they don’t seem to provide cushioning for the feet like you would have with anti-fatigue mats designed for standing on hard floors. These mats seem to do what they were designed for, and I would realistically expect them to last forever.

This is a very nice floor tile for working out and you do not need a large space. This is much better then doing pushups on a hard concrete floor. There is a little grip like feel to it when you are in your bare feet. It doesn't feel like you will slip on it or have it slip out from under you when you are putting in the work. It was easy to put together. I think I would get another box for a larger space for working out. It has enough cushion but not so much that you feel like you are sinking.

This is a great rubber gym mat that has great grip. The individual squares measure approximately 16". The set should come with 6 squares, 4 corners and 8 sides, however our set came and was missing one side piece. The fully assembled mat measures approximately 54 1/2" x 38" and approx. 1/4" thick. The overall color is mostly black with grey and blue and red mixed in. This mat was easy to assemble like a puzzle and once assembled holds together well and seems to be very durable.

I wanted a mat to stand in while I was at my workbench. I found this flooring on Home Depot’s web site and it looked like it was sturdy enough to handle my mess. It comes packaged with 6-18” tiles, 6 edge pieces and 4 corners. One box has everything you need for a 54”x 38” finished rectangular floor mat. This is the perfect size for what I wanted. The material is heavy duty, not like the soft cheap foam type floor mat. This stuff could handle dropping exercise weights on it and yet it is still easy on the feet and back while standing for long periods. It looks like you can add boxes of tiles to cover a larger area. The assembly took less than 15 minutes. I installed it over concrete and it made a big difference. It is easy to clean as well. I used a shop vac to clean up my mess. The material is comprised of 75% recycled rubber which I do like to hear. It’s also made in the USA. Worked out great, I’m sure it will last a long time and just what I was hoping for.

The material of these mats is very heavy duty. It was easy to assemble and didn't require much thought. I have noticed in the first few hours that some of the joints between the pieces are popping up. Not sure if this just requires some time for them to settle down, but in the meantime I have put some weights to try and get them to lay flat. As an FYI the material is pretty rigid and the texture is pretty gritty. It's definitely built for dropping dumbbells on, not doing yoga poses.

With my local gym closed since the beginning of the pandemic, I needed to carve out a small space in my home shop to accommodate strength training workouts. To prevent damage to my adjustable weights from the cement floor, I decided to place a section of these Trafficmaster Rubber Gym/Exercise Tiles with Nike Grind. So far I'm very pleased. The tiles come 6 to a box and assemble to cover 14.32 sq. ft. Assembly was simple, as the tiles snap together like a big jigsaw puzzle. Fit is precise and the seams are almost invisible once the tiles are assembled. The rubber is firm and quite heavy-duty, and should stand up well over time. Overall color is attractive. As a plus, the material contains 75% post-industrial recycled rubber, including from the manufacture of Nike footwear. So, a quality flooring material that is environmentally conscious. Win-win! And highly recommended.

I'll start with the positive. I love this product! It is thick and "springy" and doesn't show wear at all. I was hoping to be able to use this as a temporary flooring solution that I could take up when it wasn't needed. Unfortunately, you really must take more permanent steps to install this evenly and to prevent it from shifting as you move across it. If you want a permanent solution, this is definitely what you want!

6 tiles, 6 edges and 6 corners. Makes a decent size mat. I love these for my basement. My old house floor gets cold and sometimes damp. I hated going downstairs barefoot. This solves my problem easily. Well made, not too difficult to piece together. Nice to walk on and looks really great on my floor. If your floor is uneven(dips or changes in height these will stay together but may show the seams a little.

This is a nice floor/mat. Each piece is 18" square, when pieced together with the edge/border pieces it measures 38"x54". I got this for the area I workout in my home. It reminds me of the floors at the gym. It is thick and rubbery and the bottom has a no slip grip. The mat only offers a slight cushion but I imagine it will be a much softer impact for my joints than my concrete floor.
