        Answer This Question

A:  Attaching thresholds/transitions to concrete subfloors requires a bit of extra work, that is if you don't want them to lift. What I have found is you need to drill into the concrete and place a dowel into the hole and then screw the threshold/transition strip into the dowel. Make sure that your dowel fits the hole somewhat snuggly and when screwing into the dowel try o stay as close to the center as possible. It will expand the wood as you screw into the drilled hole in the concrete securing the threshold in place. It.is a bit time consuming and peciseness for drilling the hole where the predrilled holes are is necessary. Hope this helps.

A:  You can drill holes and insert anchors in the concrete to screw it down.

I used this as a transition between laminate and carpet. The laminate did not have a specific trim that would fit the difference in height between the two floors so, I used this. I had to cut it down to the correct length which was easy since this is wood. The oak carpet trim doesn’t perfectly match the floor but it’s close enough. I had to get longer screws than what came with it because the included screws were too short.

The. Traffic master work out great for and it stained up very good with no problems at all. The predrilled holes work out perfect we didn't have to drill any holes into the traffic master nor counter sink the screws they had everything done for us. If we had to trim off any on the board we would have to. This is a very good board plus it stains up nicely.

Nice quality stock, easily stainable, no sanding or minimal sanding necessary. The one fault is they predrilled the holes, but they did not supply the same number of screws as the holes they had drilled. Makes it a bugger to try and match if you aren't planning on plugging the holes.
