This is super easy to install. It can be cut with a utility knife. It sticks to itself so it is considered a floating floor. I had to order it as they do not carry the maple color in stock. Don't know if it comes in black and since it is flooring there is no battery.

can you install over under floor radiant heat?

Asked by gregg March 28, 2021

Answer

Thanks for your question. This product can only be installed over radiant heat if it's hydro or electric elements and they're buried at least 1/2" below the surface of a concrete subfloor. Radiant heat with any other type of subfloor and radiant mats and films are not approved.

I’m putting this in a bedroom over a garage do I need underlayment

Thank you for your question- If installing over concrete, you need to use the 6 mil poly moisture barrier. On any other type of subfloor, no other underlayment can be used.

Thanks for your question. Laminate is an unapproved subfloor and has to be removed prior to installing our planks.

double sided tape for repairs

Asked by spike January 22, 2021

Answers

I've never used double stick tape to make a repair. I'm assuming that you had to cut off the adhesive part and no-longer have a place to stick the new piece. Being that it's a floating floor, you may want to adhere a thin piece of Formica(cabinet laminate) or something similar. I use a spay on contact cement (90 3M adhesive)

This is the fourth floor we’ve done with Allure Flooring or as they call it now traffic master, although it still says allure on the box. Put this down in a small 1/2 bathroom we were updating. This flooring definitely fools your eye. it looks just like gray wood. We liked the shades of gray on this and that it’s kind of smooth it didn’t have a high texture grain as some do. Hope it performs as well as the Teak we put down in two of our bedrooms.

This flooring really does live up to its name as the easiest flooring to install
I have done lots of vinyl tile install including grouted vinyl as well as laminate click lock systems. This is by far the easiest tile to install. The bond between the tiles is very strong and overall looks absolutely gorgeous.

Installed by home depot product Lifting 1 day after
Bought this product and had the home depot installers "Romanoff renovations" install it. I don't believe it was installed incorrectly I just believe the product I faulty. It's peeling up after 1 day. I push it down so it is flush and sealed again just for it to pop back up later. We followed instructions to let the flooring acclimate in our home. Its A shame because it does look beautiful. Waiting on thr installer or home depot to make this right.

POOR QUALITY
This flooring has been a headache, when we first installed it was nice, but this flooring is not made for a high traffic area like living room or hallways. We laid this throughout our whole home. Waste of money! Here we are not even a year later and the floor has so many chippings and rips. The top layer is so thin! Definitely not pet or kid friendly! Don’t even waste your time, or money on this brand.. better off to Go with Pergo or Lifeproof! A bit more expensive but worth it.

I love the color of this flooring and the ease of installing it. However, the color shows everything. I have animals so they get a drink of water and a little dribbles out of their mouth and after it dries there is a water spot. Cats walk across the floor and you can see their foot prints. Love the color, just very disappointed in it showing everything. I have a coffee table that is on wheels and a computer chair with wheels. I wouldn't think the floor would get scratched by the wheels. I was wrong, I have scratches all over the floor where they have been.

Pretty but useless
We watched the videos and followed the protocols for applying glue stripped laminate floor tiles include super clean surface, careful application, hand rolling the seams once tiles were in place and hiring a 100lb roller to secure the seams once down. The room temp was 60-70. Still, the floor curled up in several places. It was so annoying. Once we pressed it back down it would stick, only to pop back up in an hour or so. We could not leave this in our client's house, and she noticed it. Who knows what it would look like within a few weeks? So we had to rip it up. We lost a full days labor with 2 guys besides all the to and fro to get it installed and hiring the hand roller, and then going back to the store to try and find an alternate in stock floating floor so our client would not be further inconvenienced. What a pain. Sticky vinyl - no thanks. Never again.
