Answer This Question

A:  Hello Bigwamo - thank you for your inquiry. We do not recommend applying any type of sealer on the TrafficMaster vinyl peel & stick tiles. We only recommend using a neutral pH floor cleaner. Thank You -

Q:Can this floor either the 12 by 12 or the 12 by 24 be installed in a basement utility room over existing vinyl tiles that are stable?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello ElaineR63128 - thank you for your inquiry. Yes - you can install the TrafficMaster vinyl peel & stick tiles over the top of an existing vinyl floor. There are several steps to take in order to properly prepare the existing surface. Existing floor must be: clean, free from debris, smooth, no rips or tears in the existing vinyl, a vinyl bonding primer must me applied to have better adhesion, etc. Please be sure to read the installation instructions prior to starting your flooring project. Thank You -

          Easy installation and look great.

Did a bathroom. Great results, especially for a beginner. The tiles cut easily with a scissors, or you can score and break them with a utility knife. Very nice product, BUT, don't trust the arrows on the backing paper for pattern orientation, a few were wrong and I had to spin the tiles to align the pattern.

Looks beautiful for a few days
We installed this in our house, I bought 39 cases to do the first floor, luckly we stopped at the 20th case, the floor started to look gray, ugly and very dirty only on the 2nd day, now has been 2 weeks and there is no way I am finishing the house with this tile, nothing cleans it,We already have several stains on the floor. It looks beautiful for a few weeks, I like the idea of having the marble look on it but it gets dirty very easily. Would not recommend it, I am returning the other 19 cases to home depot and buying different flooring, once the floor gets dirty its almost impossible to clean it, we used all kinds of cleaners and nothing does the job, dirt settles in them very well. Save your money and buy better quality flooring, buying this vinyl it will end up on the waste-fields and harm the environment in a few months. I am hoping that TrafficMaster will step in and give me some of that money back so that I can at least say that they do take care of their customers very proffessional. we wasted 19 cases of product and lots of labor. This is very disappointing. Thanks for reading.

Used this with another brand tile for my wine room. I wanted the marble and wood combo without the hefty price.

              Gorgeous
I love it, it was my DIY project, it was harder to prepare for installation then installing it, i removed my existing tile that was already installed over old linoleum, I've kept linoleum as my waterproof layer, however: i would recommend layout the whole tile design first separately, and once satisfied with the overall pattern flow /design, then goahead to install it. Easy to cut, adhesive is strong, inspect tiles before installing from scabs on the edges, you can sand it off edges if needed.

Looks great and very easy to cut
This came out great!! I thought it was easy to cut and really sticky. I didn’t use extra glue. I also grouted. I am a very novice level diyer.

                    Beautiful and affordable!
I read all the the reviews on these “easy” to lay tiles. The laying is easier. However, you have to cut them perfect. One tile wide than the other and you’re off. I chose to do my tiles in the herringbone pattern. It was a lot harder than the 12x12 squares but so worth the time and effort. I did get the premixed grout in charcoal. It’s nice, no need to seal it after. I had some areas that showed grout stain on the tile. Removed that with nail polish remover and it’s perfect!

Much easier to install than I expected
Like some of the other reviewers I ended up cutting the 12x12" blocks into 3rds. One way to speed up that process is to break down the box the tile comes in and mark it with where the tile needs to be cut, then use a straight edge so you're not having to measure for each piece. When cutting you don't have to press down hard at all (unlike with drywall), just run a utility knife along the line you want to cut then snap. Lighter pressure makes it easier to get straight lines.
