Sorry to say that I only needed 3 feet for one doorway so I am not sure. I would recommend calling the supplier. The installation went well little tricky to install but turned out very good.

Can you just buy the fasteners and not the whole transition strip

Unfortunately, no. Neither Home Depot or Shaw, who makes the TrafficMaster brand for Home Depot, has them for sale to consumers.

Does this prevent the carpeting from unraveling where it meets the ceramic tile?

Yes and no. What I'd do is take a piece of duct tape and adhere it top and bottom prior to the strip being nailed down. Be sure to trim off any threads on carpet ends and sides. That will assure your job will work well.

This would definitely work. I'd try to use a light strip of caulking on the ceramic tile and predrill the holes I needed before placing the strip. I'd use the spiral nails provided

Hi Sue, it is one of the potential services that is offered in Home Depot stores. I would advise you to call or visit your local Home Depot stores about their services and capabilities. Be advised that not all services are present in all stores, it varies store to store and region to region. Hope this helps! Will this be suitable to finish edge around fireplace slab to transition from laminate to slate?

Asked by Saffy197 May 2, 2017

Answer

You'll probably have to drill additional holes and add additional screw nails or round head screws to go into the laminate. Again, the height difference between the slate and laminate makes all the difference. If it's the same height good. I wouldn't drill the slate as it cracks and delaminates easily. Careful not to over tighten the screws as the oak could also split. Patience is going to be required.

Unfortunately this did not work at all. The second it got bent it was worthless. I didn't realize when I bought it that it was metal not vinyl. A great installation concept just don't make a mistake. To bad because the color was perfect. It was very difficult to cut, easy to mess up. I finally gave up and will try something else.

The strip looks good and matches our wood floors well. The anchors are garbage, however. One snapped off completely and two bent to the point they would no longer go in while installing. Two worked correctly but when removing the broken anchors it weakened those that worked so they too broke.
