What is the recommended storage temperature for the flooring?

Asked by Jon April 3, 2021

Can’t address your few weeks question but I did store a couple of boxes in my garage for about a year and when I decided to use them, I put them in the area I planned to install them for a few days beforehand and they were fine.

Does this flooring hold up in a bathroom with steam and humidity?

For what it's worth I've only used it on my kitchen floor and it's been there for several years. If I ever have to replace my bathroom floor this is what I will use. It's easy to install, it wears well and with a little care when you install it moisture should not be a problem. I hope this helps.

Is the flooring softer than hardwood

Softer underfoot- yes. It also scratches easily living with 2 dogs that bring in sand.

How thick is it

My guess is about 3/16th inch. It's like 2 layers of the old Linoleum.

Thanks for your question. The High Point Chestnut is water resistant but not waterproof. Moisture can harm the adhesive strip if they're exposed for too long.

I never hurts to install a vapor barrier, but in your case it isn't necessary. I actually work for HD & have for 10 years, 4 of which were as a flooring specialist. I like this product & have used it twice. I am now considering a 3rd use in my current home.

Cold?

I have had no problem with it in cold except it scratches super easy and does not clean up well at all. I would not put it in a high traffic area.

Does this need a vapor barrier if installed in a basement over concrete? My home is ~70 years old.

Thanks for your question. Yes, this product requires a 6 mil poly sheeting over concrete. You can see full installation requirements at the link below. Give us a call if you have questions. Can it be used on an unheated but closed in porch in Michigsn?

Asked by Dan February 9, 2021

Answers

No, it cannot be in an unheated room for warranty purposes. The specs specify a minimum temperature. I know it is being used in an rv without issue but you would not get help if a problem developed due to not following manufacturer specifications.

I've been using this product for years now. It's easy to install, very forgiving on uneven surfaces, and it's wearing well over time. So far, I've used it in quite a few bathrooms and a teenagers bedroom. We'll be installing it house-wide soon and a more detailed review will be up after that adventure.

BEST DIY FLOORING EVER
We wanted to give the house a facelift and update it. We knocked down pocorn ceilings, added texture, painted walls and doors and trim, added new light fixtures. But when it was done we didnt get the wow factor of a fresh new look because of the ugly peach colored dated tile floors. It cost an arm and a leg to break and remove ceramic tiles so we werent gonna do that because of budget restrictions and well all the work that goes into tile removal. Yuck. Did some research and found this floor, and im so thankful we did! Goes over tile or any flat surface. Thick and durable and the adhesive is super strong. Easy to trim with some vinyl cutting scissors or a vinyl floor tile cutter i bought at home depot for like $50. Totally worth it! Also rented a 90lb floor roller to roll over the flooring as i went to make sure the adhesive stuck tightly. Heads up though you need to be careful with any crazy uneven tiles or any small rocks because they will show small bumps in some areas. We grinded a few tile corners down after seeing it in one section. In the pics you can see all the tools i used. All purchased at home depot except for the 90lbs roller which you can rent.

Easy to install, cuts easy, lays nice without having to roll or worry about. Not my first time using this product. I am bummed I couldn't find it in the store anymore. But at least you can purchase online. This color has a great depth to it! Rich colors!

Gorgeous and so easy!
We just bought a house and wanted to replace the living room carpet with a affordable vinyl flooring. This was the best choice we made! We went with khaki oak and it’s such a gorgeous color! Very easy to install too, this stuff is very sticky so once it’s stuck it is stuck! We love it!

Love this floor!
I have installed this floor into two separate rooms in my house. It's easy to do. You just need razor cutter, straight edge, measuring tape, and a little patience. What I love (and hate) about this floor is that once it's stuck together, it's stuck! No worries about click and lock flooring coming apart. This stuff sticks! Which is fantastic for knowing that it's not coming apart on you....but make sure you have it lined up correctly because getting it apart after it's stuck is near impossible. I highly recommend this product! My brother in law is the owner of a large commercial construction company and he told me about this flooring. He had used this and the click and lock kind and recommended this one to me. My bathroom floor was done in Teak and my basement was done in khaki oak (I hate when I'm reading reviews and looking at pictures and have no idea what color it is). Go buy this stuff and have fun installing!
