A: No tack strip needed. The carpet trim will cover the edge of the carpet and protect it and keep it in place.
A: Yes this is perfect for that transition.
A: This is meant to transitions floors of uneven heights so if your floors are set up like that then yes it will work. It is installed with included fasteners, and if you install into a concrete floor then you will need wood pegs to install into the concrete for the fasteners to be hammered down in to.
A: Hi. This strip is beveled. In other words, it’s meant to join two different levels. So, if your floors differ in height this will work. Other strips are available that will sit flat. Some have a rib underneath that sits between the different flooring to help secure the strip in place. If the gap between the flooring is small enough a colored silicone could be used instead.
A: I'm not sure about that because I have hard wood floors so I only used the nails which was included to put it down.
A: This product is meant to be installed with nails, they would be nailed into wood pegs that you install down into the concrete. You would drill holes, put would pegs into the holes, and then nail the trim down into those wood pegs.
A: Based on its shape I'm not sure there is enough contact edges for glue to hold the transition strip in place for very long with folks stepping on it. Best to nail or screw it in place, this also makes it easy to remove if necessary.
