Should this be applied yearly?

Or is it just a one time thing? Are you supposed to apply it yearly? Thanks for any help!
Asked by: Confused
Yes, I apply this yearly. Tepees can cost a lot of money. Protecting the canvas is crucial.

Customer Reviews

1 gal. Ray Bloc UV Fabric Protector Spray is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great on my awning This product works great for protecting fabric from fading and damage. A previous reviewer said it didn't work for waterproofing -that's because it is NOT a waterproofing product. The manufacturer says to apply once a year unless you live in a really sunny area then you may want to apply a few times a year. Since you can't fix faded fabric it is better to apply more frequently rather than less. Pay attention to the level of liquid in the bottle as you spray so you don't over apply and run out before you are done. Worked excellent for me and will help me extend the life of my awning cover!

I own 3 big tepees, made of canvas. If you don't treat the canvas the sun, wind, and rain will take its toll very quickly on the canvas. I pour the Ray Bloc in my garden sprayer and spray the canvas every year. It protects my investment.

I throughly cleaned and used this production on my canvas deck chairs, chaise cushions and cotton hammock. I used a substantial amount, everything was throughly soaked and let it all dry for over 48 hours. All of my items where previously waterproofed and I was just doing an annual clean/protect. I ran a test on the chairs and water soaked in immediately, did the same on the hammock, no protection. I'm disappointed more due to the time I spent making sure I did everything according to instructions. Spent a whole afternoon working on this and results undesirable.

When you spray this stuff on, it sort of beads up, but you can rub the part that hasn't soaked in and it seems to coat my "sunroom" couch and custions. It would be interesting to know how long that it lasts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trek-7 I don't think this product works. The canvas I applied it to is no more water resistant than it was before. I have to assume the uv blocker isn't any better.
