My doorway is 35”. Will tin snips work to shorten the trim?
A hacksaw is the most common way to cut this product. You can also use a tin snips. Be sure to file off any loose edges and wear appropriate eye and safety equipment.
Will these “Strips” work with a 16 mm gap between floor levels?? My living room & kitchen… is 6 mm. But, when I went to buy flooring for my bedroom!! Home Depot had stopped selling 6 mm. Only available option is 22 in the color I want!!
Is the flooring height 16mm or 6mm? The width of the 8mm Reducer will cover about an inch over the top onto the other flooring substrate. The 8mm height of this Reducer will work with 6mm height flooring, simply tap down the Reducer top until flush with your 6mm height flooring. However, do not tap down the Reducer if using tile. Please reference the install videos on the item's product page.
Is there a size that works with 12mm planks?
We are currently producing 12mm profile sizes, but do not have active 12mm transition strip at this time.
The photos for the silver and nickel show that this bridges an 8.2mm gap, but the photos for the bronze and black show that it only bridges a 5.5mm gap. Are the darker colors narrower than the lighter colors, or are the photos incorrect?
No the size of the opening of the trim does not vary between finishes. I believe this was a admin error on line which has now been corrected. Thank you for your interest in our products
is the satin nickel color more silver or gold?
The color family would be Satin Silver.
Can you use this as an edge to steps on a staircase?
This reducer transition strip is designed for transitions between flooring surfaces of different heights, not for use as a stair edge. Stair edges require specialized profiles that provide safety and durability for foot traffic. Using a standard transition strip on stairs could create a tripping hazard.
My opening to the kitchen is 87inches. How can I get that length?

What would be the best method to attach the transition to concrete?
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their answer is, The preferred application for concrete would be to use a urethane-based adhesive. The trim may also be applied with fasteners. On a concrete substrate you will need to drill a small hole and insert a wood peg in the hole to hold the screw.
