Questions & Answers

Can this be used to wrap dishes?

I plan to store some personal possessions for a few years-- a friend told me that she wrapped her dishes in newspaper, and the ink stained the dishes. Would this paper be safe to wrap dishes and utensils in, long-term?

absolutely

Will this paper block out light if used as temporary window coverage?

Asked by: Abby
Yes. We use it to protect windows when we paint. It's not black out but it will definitely shade a room!

Is this similar or just like butcher paper?

I've been needing butcher paper and this seems like it but I'm not sure about it. I'm going to be using it for a school project, and its gonna be hanging up on a wall.
Asked by: safawazhere
No. Butcher paper has a moisture resistance to it. This paper is water soluble. Water will penetrate through it in time. It protects against paint splatter while rolling or spraying paint.

We ripped pieces and glued them down to the floor with Elmer's wood glue and water, then 3 coats of Min Wax poly....all products purchased at Home Depot!

It was easy to work with, simply roll it out, cut it to shape (snap off/retractable blade knife) and cover with mulch or whatever you plan on using for ground cover. It has been over a month and it is still in tact even with regular irrigation and rain (Florida). So, it has been in place preventing sunlight from reaching potential weeds for a month. I don't see any signs of weeds whatsoever. I would expect it to breakdown over time. That's fine, it would be easy to rake the area and layer it again and put the mulch back on top. I will definitely keep using it.

We covered 9 normal sized windows, one 8 x 5 ft. bay window, 2 doors and 1 French door (we have enough left to do the new house we are moving into as well.) We than used a paint sprayer to paint the house and as you would guess the paper got considerably wet from the paint. The paper held up perfectly, it did not tear from being wet nor did it allow any paint to bleed through. We have used other coverings before to paint with and like the "special painters tape" they never quite held up to the job. But this paper was great! (the painters tape we used held up this time as well, FINALLY! we had a good painting experience) This paper is also a lot easier to work with then the rolls of plastic and draping coverings we have used in the past.

Thicker and more durable than other 'Kraft Papers I've used, and beats Rosin Paper hands down. Not as tough as USG Floor Protector paper, which is effectively sheetrock facing. I'm a tile setter and use these products for temporary covering of floors and counter surfaces. Ramboard or Masonite are preferable for long term protection. It's also priced right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough Stuff We had this paper down on our hardwood floors for two full weeks as extensive wainscoting was built in three rooms and the main foyer. Not even a rip or tear in spite of heavy foot traffic. It performed double service as we then did finish painting and nail set filling. Could not have asked for better service out if this builder's paper.

I bought this to cover countertops to prevent paint overspray and it was excellent. I decided to use to cover the floor thinking It would only hold up one day. surprised it has been down for 2 weeks and holding up to a lot of foot traffic and preventing the floors from damage until I get the room done .

When I was rolling it out I thought I was kneeling by some dog doodoo. It was really heavy to work with for me. But I was doing this all by myself. Finally remembered that the smell was not from my dogs but the paper. Peeeuuuuuwww!

Also, you can move a long strip of paper down a wall as you work and keep a tight line. It didn't irritate me by clinging to the wall like plastic can do sometimes.
