Product Overview

The TripleGrip is 1 of the most technologically advanced anchor on the market. It is designed with 2 expandable wings that grip tightly behind the drywall for a maximum holding power. Its advanced Cam Action technology expands, thereby creating an additional pressure against the side walls of the drywall or masonry. This also provides more stability and strength. 2 lateral wings hold the anchor in place, preventing any rotation while the screw is inserted. Available in #6, #8, #10 and #12.

It seems like the 35lb Triple Grip is not very useful for sheetrock/wallboard. You use the drill bit and drill out a hole and then try to tap the anchor in, and the whole anchor just crushes and breaks. There is too much thin plastic in this design to handle any tapping. This design is too complicated for cheap thin plastic. I had to throw them out and get go with a sturdier anchor like - Hillman Group 370326 Ribbed Plastic Anchor.

Hello Jim, thank you for your comments on the TripleGrip. We are sorry to read that you have encountered some difficulties and also Suprised that the anchor crushed so easily. Those anchors are made of malleable plastic material . If by any chance you still have the deffect product at hand, we would like to have them to do some tests and of course we will replace the damaged product. You can contact us at: lynnleclerc@cobraanchors.com to make arrangements. BEST REGARDS CobraAnchors

Just remodeled the bathroom and the wall where the towel rod is going was tiled, so needed to install a better fastener then the ones that came with the towel rod, these worked great. All in one package with fasteners, screws and masonry bit (1/4") with easy to follow instructions. The fasteners tap in easily and don't bend or crush up like other brands, screw tightens up firm with no slipping or stripping.

Package, image and description on HD website don't match up.
I don't know what to think. I'm worried because these anchors were recommended by the manufacturer, Delta, to hold up the side support for a tempered glass shower door. The HD website says that the 171R will hold a "weight up to 75lb." The image of the product on the HD website says it will hold 51lb. And the product that I just got at HD says that it supports 35lb.

The plastic anchors work great but the drill bit is junk. Luckily I had another good bit to use. I would suggest buying a quality bit of the same size.

      DO NOT PURCHASE!
We chose this product because it came with a drill bit and it was recommended for drywall. The drill bit was good for the twelve holes I drilled and each of the plastic anchors fit nicely into the holes. They needed tapped with a hammer, but they went in smoothly without twisting or breaking. So far, I'm impressed. I used a drill to slowly put the screws in most of the way and finished by hand to make sure that they weren't over tightened or twisting the anchors. Looks good. Then I set the drill on the shelf and THE ENTIRE SHELF TIPPED FORWARD. The weight of the drill plus the one pound shelf pulled out the four 35# anchors. I removed the screws and the anchors and found that the anchors did not deploy as they are pictured on the packaging. The end splayed but the center did not expand and contract per the diagram. So now I'm removing the rest of the anchors, looking at all of the holes in my wall, and trying to figure what's next. These do not work as shown on the packaging. All eight of the anchors I used were faulty. See attached picture.
