21 in. 160cc GCV Series Honda Engine 3-in-1 Gas Walk Behind Push Lawn Mower with High Rear Wheels

The bag doesn't seat correctly on the mower. There is a gap on the top left side where grass and dust can blow out making it uncomfortable to breathe and leaves dirt all over me when I use it. Other than that, the Honda engine started on the first pull.

I purchased this mower after having a very generic push mower for years. I needed more power than my cheap mower had. What sold me on this particular unit was obviously the engine upgrade to this Honda 160cc engine, but after handling one in the store........I was really sold. I already had a mower with large rear wheels, but the feel of the handle on this model is everything I have been missing on a push mower. The angled grab bar, along with the adjustments to increase the angle for a taller user were enough to make me pull one of these mowers right off the shelf and into my cart. Setup out of the box was fairly easy, the autochoke feature works great. Note, the only reason I chose that I do not recommend this mower is because I purchased it for the purpose of using the bagger. If you intend to use this machine without the bagger, I do recommend it. It has been absolutely great otherwise. After all of that good feedback, let me discuss what I don't like and why I gave this unit the marks I did. The bag itself and how it attaches is fine, I don't have any feedback. There was a time or two I didn't fully seat the bag correctly, but noticed the side effect it causes immediately and corrected/reseated it. There are two actual complaints about the bagger are on completely different levels, and only one effects operation: The tedious of the two is when installing the bag, somehow or another it seems to catch the pull start rope about 50% of the time or greater. While it is an easily corrected issue, it is bothersome enough to write a note about it. I do realize that adding an eyelet in the handle to route the cable differently will add stress to the rope, but honestly I think the benefit of removing this minor frustration would make a difference. Now onto the larger issue, the design of the bagging discharge. I used this mower for several months through the summer, although not too often as we had some really dry spells. Everything worked wonderfully. You would quickly learn the feel when the bagger was full and ready to be emptied, I'd almost compare it to walking with a really heavy backpack. However, now that we've been in much more of a wet late summer, things have changed drastically. When mowing grass of any moisture level greater than 'bone dry', the discharge outlet that shoots clippings into the bagger will physically clog. I will clarify, I am not talking about "wet" grass. The attached photo is from my lawn, the previous rain was 55-60hrs prior to this cut. I might as well have taken the bagger off and put on the side discharge. I was emptying the bag way more often than normal, but it was solely to unclog the discharge. There was so little in the bag, I literally could have mowed the entire thing with just emptying the bag when I was done. In a normal 'bone dry' mow, I empty the bag 3 times. Since the discharge was clogging, nothing was going into the bag. This is very evident in the picture. Very frustrated and disappointed.

I bought one of these today at the College Park, MD store. The only one left was the display model, which I bought at full retail price. When I got it home, I found it had grass clippings stuck to the underside. It had oil and gas in the tanks. It had been used! The outside had been cleaned but the underside of the deck told the tale. I hope it runs okay when I'm ready to use it.

The lawnmower itself is great but the bag, is the worst. I have to physically pick the bag up to back up the lawn mower. So much that I was backing up the lawn mower and caught the bag under the lawn mower. Who can I call? Please help

I got this a few days ago and it seems like a pretty good mower. However, I got it all put together, gas and oil in it only to realize the bracket to the front left wheel is bent so the wheel rubs on the deck. I tried taking the wheel off and bend it back myself but I couldn’t get it. It seems like the mower I got was either dropped or the bracket was tightened too hard when they built it. I also thought I was missing a part in which I contacted Home Depot about and they told me to contact Troy Bilt because they don’t supply that part which is annoying since I just spent almost $300 buying it thru Home Depot. Turns out the piece was in the grass collector bag where the other same pieces were loose in the box. Just seemed like it was packaged poorly. This is the first push mower I’ve ever purchased but overall just a horrible experience and do not recommend.

Just purchased this yesterday and assembled this morning. Real wheel hight adjustment handle rubs against the right wheel. Comparing my pic to the pic on Home Depot site, they are very different. Rear adjustment handle is too short for the size of the wheel. Very frustrating. Obvious lack of quality control. Wrong part or just bad changed design. Haven't used yet since considering returning it to HD.

Bag is too small for frame can not stretch it anymore or its will rip please help? Than the bolts did not want to go thru i had to use a knift to make the holes bigger so the bolts could fit

This is my second troy bilt mower with the honda engine. The other still works fine, after 8 years of use on two properties both being about .7 acres. Went ahead and got a second one to keep from having to load one up every time I needed to cut at the other property. I do not use the bag attachment, so i can't remark on that aspect. Although i did replace the hand nuts/wing nuts for the folding handle bars. Due to the nylock part being worn and they would work loose. Also I prefer the old manual choke system over the new one. The manual choke will one will fire off on the first pull every time. This new auto choke set up takes two and three pulls at times. I have not had to do anything to either mower other than end of season maintenance. Blow out filter, change oil, sharpen blade, and grease the wheel hub/axle.

This is a solid mower, as in, when you are using it you can feel the stoutness of the assembly as a whole. A lot of mowers have the floppy loose handle that has 6" of play up and down, or the plastic shrouds rattle nonstop, or the wheels are loose all the time........it feels like they're gonna fall apart at any moment. Terrifying, I know. This mower has none of those issues, and along with the Honda motor it feels like a very well balanced professional-grade machine right out of the box. I'm extremely happy I made this purchase and you will be too.......unless you are cheap and decide to go with the Briggs & Stratton version, Dont be cheap, be happy.

Just received this lawn mower today 3/22/21, and we have a problem with the rear height adjustment lever on the back high wheel. The lever is hitting the rear tire and cannot be adjusted unless we go through the hassle of removing the rear wheel. We tried to bend the lever away from the wheel, but we were unable to do so.
