Pretty good tiller.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tiller is impressive. It replaces one that was purchased in the 70s. by my dad. That one finally gave up with transmission problems. I am surprised to see the new ones work very much the same way as the old ones. If it holds up near as well I’ll be a very happy camper.

Replaced our 1979 Troybilt of the same size with this new one. Spring work has just began and it works great. As a side note the 1979 model is still working also.

    Never fails
I have owned a Troy Bilt since 1972 and the one I have now was bought new in 1977 and it is still going strong with its cast iron Kohler 7 horse engine. I've only had to replace bolo tines (lots of gravel in our soil) and perform routine service and maintenance. I have heard many mixed reviews since Garden Way sold to MTD and it does not appear that the quality of the newer machines is comparable to the older ones. At my age (75) it is doubtful I will be purchasing a new machine but, if I do I will be looking very critically at the current production models. Just being honest.

      Best machine ever
We bought our troy-bilt horse tiller in 1972. It was a huge expense for us then, around $400. Has been going strong ever since. Lawnmowers came and went, always needing tuning. Not the tiller, it just always started, always worked flawlessly! Gardening is a dream. Someone borrowed it a couple years ago and let it rust.....grrrr....now we are taking it to get tuned up and fixed. Have no doubt it can be repaired though. Made in America - like the cast iron skillets I inherited from Mom that have been used since the 30s. Built to last.

        A TRUE HORSE !!
My unit was purchased in 1977 by my mother. When she died, I inherited it and used it every year. The original engine died about five years ago and the dealer replaced it with an exact match, Kohler engine ! It's still going strong today. Just finished tilling my garden for spring planting. It's worth every dollar paid for it.

It is easy to handle and it does not take to long to accomplish what you need to do.
