Counter- rotating tines are best for breaking new ground and power through hard-packed challenging soils

Larger front bumper provides extra protection from accidental damage to landscaping or the engine
Gear-drive transmission with 1 forward speed helps keep tiller moving through soil
Wider 1 in. handles improve stability and handling
Adjust handle height quickly, in the garden, with no tools required
Ergonomically designed depth stake handle makes it easier to adjust tilling depth and is more comfortable to use
13 in. agricultural tires enhance traction and maneuverability
Addition to gardening, tillers can also aid in prepping areas for seeding, mixing compost in the pile or mixing compost into your soil
Limited-lifetime warranty on the transmission, including all gears, shafts and housings, against defects in material and workmanship for the life of the tiller (to the original purchaser only)
The machine is great, however, the metal part that holds the cable snapped the first time I used it so I needed to make a makeshift repair

Bolt Shears through Tine Holder Over Time
I bought two of these models in August 2021. Both are now unusable unless I buy a new tine holder for each. Model has a fatal flaw & will break with repeat use. The issue: given the torque of tines rotating in opposite directions, stress is applied to a bolt keeping tine holder in place. Over time, bolt shears entirely through the metal of the tine holder. Heat is generated when operating, making the metal susceptible to shearing. Both units are now broken unless I buy replacement parts.

Handles bent but I reinforced them with angle iron
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this many years ago, but the handles bend, so I bolted on some angle iron along each side running from the upper handle down to the lower handle supports. Otherwise it has been a good tiller. I have replaced the carb once. I wish the tines could be disengaged while you are moving it. The Mustang model looks like a good alternative except that the reviews mention that it is hard to shift.

This item is far from the original Troy-Bilt quality. My old 1993 TroyBilt Pony has lasted me since I bought it. That machine has gear problems but there is no replacement since TroyBilt was sold to MTD.
The Bronco sounds good on paper. The problems I have are: (1) there is no speed control on the handle bars, (2) the machine will not move unless it is running. You can't back it out a short distance before starting it. (3) the depth of cut is impossible to operate. It appears frozen in one position-deep cut! Perhaps this may be due to how the crate was delivered. Thrown from the back of the delivery truck is not the way to create more business. (Pictures upon request) (4) The counter rotating tines are not an asset. The resulting tilled area is not smooth compared to my old 1993 Pony. On balance I'm sorry I ever bought this machine.

My son has the exact tiller, and I have used it several times. When it came time for me to purchase another tiller, this is exactly what I wanted. It is easy to start, handle on rough terrain, and I love the reverse option. Mine came in a crate, as I bought it out of season, very easy to assemble, and immediately started for the first time, once it was all ready to go. By far the best option in garden tillers

Ease of Use
My husband bought me this tiller in March, I love it!!! It is easy for me to use and it is a work horse. My favorite feature is the reverse! Better than a diamond ring, best present he's bought for me in a long time. He knows I love my garden and now it is so much easier to do with my Troy Bilt Super Bronco Tiller!

The tiller handle bars broke so fast I did not even get 1 season of gardening done before this broke and now that i fixed the handlebars the forward drive belt breaks. the belts are not easy to find and you have to order them online. Ive not been able to complete my tilling or plant my garden because this tiller needs to be fixed constantly. I had to buy a welder to fix the handlebars which are made so cheaply, 1/8 inch of steel is what they use, but I welded 1/4 inch angled iron steel. Don't buy this tiller the warranty is crap and so is the unit. Handlebars are crap. Troy Built should be ashamed of themselves for this. Belt housing is crap also dust durt rocks and grass are able to get inside and rip your belt off or the grass get tangled inside and needs constant cleaning and removal of built up grass, other tillers actually protect this, Troy Built does not. shouldn't surprise me the sell the replacement handle bars for 100 dollars, lol this wont fix the problem and they know it thats why they sell the handlebars instead of really addressing the problem like i have and add 1/4 inch steel handle bars instead of these cheap 1/8 inch crap which will bend under normal use. I live in Tennessee and have rockey soil but this is never happened before with other tillers ive used. Troy Built are not what they once were. This company is deliberately not fixing the design flaws in this unit, they want you to buy the handlebars over and over, along with the drive belts. They should have done a better job of protecting the drive belt. I will buy a Grillo Tiller in the future as they are not built like crap.
