how deep does it till

Comfortably, around 6". Deeper than that and you have to sort of stoop down and also work pretty hard to push it forward. As you go deeper, the weight of the machine transfers from the wheels to the tines and the undercarriage of the machine begins to drag on the soil. The counter rotating tines begin to pull backward with more force than the wheels can overcome But if you don't mind pushing, the machine will bury itself.

Can synthetic motor oil be used in this engine?

You could I suppose. As long as the oil weight is the same as what the owners manual indicated you should be fine.

does my triller need gear oil

Asked by larry April 4, 2020

Answer

No, but also yes. The manufacturer's instructions indicate that the gear oil does not need to be changed unless it becomes contaminated. However, there is a transmission oil fill cap and they include instructions for draining and refilling the gear box if necessary. The transmission uses 75w145 wt oil.

It's light enough for a 17 year old to unload, but I had the store load it into my little old Ranger with a fork lift. It comes in a box that's about 48 inches long 24 inches tall and just over 16" wide. The box was strapped to a standard size shipping pallet, so I had the store lift the pallet up to meet my tail gate, then we cut the straps and removed the box at the store. Check the packing and make sure you get all the parts, we found the carriage bolt that connects the handle to the rest of the machine floating around in the crate. I left the pallet and the box at the store.

On the right side of the air cleaner cover, there is a series of ridges, along with a little icon, indicating "push". Push the ridges and lift up on the right side of the cover. It snaps on the right side and hinges on the left.

My son has the exact tiller, and I have used it several times. When it came time for me to purchase another tiller, this is exactly what I wanted. It is easy to start, handle on rough terrain, and I love the reverse option. Mine came in a crate, as I bought it out of season, very easy to assemble, and immediately started for the first time, once it was all ready to go. By far the best option in garden tillers

Ease of Use
Customer review from troybilt.com logo
My husband bought me this tiller in March, I love it!!! It is easy for me to use and it is a work horse. My favorite feature is the reverse! Better than a diamond ring, best present he's bought for me in a long time. He knows I love my garden and now it is so much easier to do with my Troy Bilt Super Bronco Tiller!

the one thing I do not like is that to move it around it has to be running and also that the tiller can not be desingaged also that it has a lot of front overhang when tilling to a fencebut it is what it is, a small cheap tiller and you only get what you pay for

Super Bronco
Customer review from troybilt.com logo
Just purchased my tiller. It was easy to assemble and started right up. It does a good job cutting thru new soil with no lurching forward like my old tiller. The problem arises when the soil is tilled up. The counter rotation of the tines keeps the tiller from moving forward on its own and needs a lot of effort to push the tiller along. There is no way it will operate in tilled soil with one hand. I am disappointed to say the least. :(
