16.5 ft. Black Garage Door Threshold Seal Kit

This was the perfect antidote for my Garage Door Threshold need. VERY EASY to install. VERY EASY to trim, VERY EASY to Seal. Works great. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a Threshold for your Garage Door. You’ll be glad to have and proud to show it. It’s functional and perfect.

We installed this kit this afternoon and everything was going just fine until we went to use the caulking gun that came with it. The gun didn't even last 1/4 of the way thru the job. Thank goodness we had our own and were able to finish applying the adhesive. Liquid Nails is a very thick, strong adhesive and I think they include the cheapest caulking gun ever made. No idea how the threshold kit is going to work, we just installed it. But wanted to warn people to have their own caulking gun ready to use.

Easy to install, The only hard part is putting down the sealant! Looks like it will solve my problem with water coming in under my garage door!

The kit arrived with all of the components in it. 1 Floor Threshold, 1 Caulking Gun, and 2 Tubes of Liquid Nails. 1 Tube of Liquid Nails was punctured side ways - not a good thing - I searched for replacement tubes but none of this type is available hardly anywhere! I had to contact the manufacturer and they recommended LN2000 Fuze It. Unfortunately it comes in a 9oz container - so I did not get all the stuff I needed. I had to buy an extra tube (Glad I did - I needed it - about half a tube) - there is no directions on how far down to cut the tube for a bead (they should supply you with a precut dispensing tube - so your bead is the same thickness as theirs). I was probably a bit thicker than the kit manufacturer - so contrary to the company saying you have everything you need in the kit - YOU DON'T - also no rubbing alcohol to clean the garage surface. Also they use this special LN950 Polyurethane - so if there is an issue (like in my case a punctured tube from shipment and the fact I needed more than what the two tubes have) you can't get it or you need to play shipping tag first pkg right wins. I wish the threshold was 4 to 5 inches longer as it does not stretch to the Door Track ! I used my own caulk gun as theirs felt a little flimsy (just like other reviewers have noted) and like it could not handle these tubes - the force required to squeeze out material was pretty hefty so using my gun worked fine. I have not seen it hold up against rain yet so the jury is still out. 1. Tube damaged in shipping. 2. LN950 - not available to replace bad tubes or to get extra (they should supply 24-25oz oz of material.) 3. No Rubbing alcohol to clean the floor with. (They said I have everything I need in the kit and I did not..) 4. No precut dispensing tube for the caulk material - the tubes screw on the canisters so this should be provided. 5. Track should actually be 4 inches longer than the door opening to reach the guide tracks of the door. So those are the reasons I am rating this a 3 . If they want a 5 they need to fix these issues.

the garage door seal worked excellent. there was plenty of sealer to do the job.the garage door is 48yeare old and i put 2 new seal strips on the bottom of the garage door and it still leaked water under the door. i sent and got the strip for the floor and not a drop of water leaked in. also the shipping was very prompt.

I'd been looking at getting a threshold kit for my garage door for years. Over the years the concrete slab for the driveway and the garage floor have moved, creating a gap between the bottom the garage door and the concrete on one side. However, I was concerned that it would be difficult to install, and not work with my painted floor. The latter is no longer a problem as the floor is well seasoned, but the former was still a concern. I didn't need to worry. Just roll out the threshold, let it uncurl and lay flat (easier in warm weather), cut it to size with a sharp utility knife (use a straightedge to get the best cut), close the door and push the threshold into place, and mark the inner edge of the strip. Do the same on the outer-facing side, and you're ready to lay down the adhesive. Three lines are all it takes, and then place the threshold over the adhesive while making sure it stays between the lines you drew. Keep a putty knife handy for any adhesive that oozes out; you can scrape it up easily before it dries. Then lower the door and wait 24 hours for it to take a permanent set. That's it! Easy. Plus it has really reduced the amount of dust and dirt driven under the door and into my garage.

The product, Black door threshold kit, certainly was sufficient for the application but the Caulking Gun, which was supplied as the installation equipment, was inferior. The caulking gun construction was of light gage sheet metal and promptly collapsed after a few squeezes. Fortunately I had a commercial Caulking Gun in my truck to finish the project. For the cost of the kit the installation equipment should be a bit beefier. I would recommend the threshold but should replace the flimsy caulk gun with a more sturdy gun. We have had occasion to test the threshold with rain and it holds very well.

Excellent quality product. Did have to use a different adhesive. Supplied adhesive was very hard to get out even with a heavy duty gun.
