Deep Series 90 Deg. Corner for 5.4 in. Trench and Channel Drain Systems w/Black Grate

I have a monster hill with a small flat part that was trying to wash out. I have never done anything like this before, but watching YouTube I was able to create a solution with this drain to capture the runoff into this drain and divert it to the road. The drain was placed below the dirt line and I put concrete around it (peat gravel on top) so I could walk on it and direct water into the drain. I had to call the company for another adapter and I must say they were pretty awesome to work with too.

I used it next to a side walk with dirt on the other side and a little gravel on top so the dirt would stay put. I had to have a slight turn and had to cut it. Wish I knew that nothing will bond or seal to these drain systems because their made of polypropylene ploymer. Only thing I found was DP-8005 from 3M and it aint cheap that's why I gave it only 4 stars. After heavy rains from hurricane Delta the system performed very well. The grates are easy to pop off with two flathead screwdrivers.

I bought this and 18ft of drain. It worked out well, except for the connectors to add end caps and join the 90° corner to the drain. The connector is too flexible and doesnt hold well, but with a little determination and concrete to hold everything in place, we are very happy with the finished product.

At first I was a little skeptic, but to my surprise the product exceded my expectations. No more flooding issues and the best part of it is that The black channel grate looks amazing under my new pergola.:)

The product is very good, the only thing I had a problem with was the using the coupling. It does not make a good connection.

The sections for this drain kit slide together but they don't snap in place which makes it hard to keep them to stay put. One section somehow mysteriously separated from the other while the cement was curing. I doubt they would’ve separated had there been a snap that held them together. I could’ve glued them but the ‘tongue and grove’ is so small that I doubt it would’ve helped. The product is made of rigid plastic and looks good, but the design behind connecting them together failed miserably. If the pitch of your base isn’t perfectly even there will be a good chance that the sections will not stay fully seated and they will pop up. I would’ve given the product 4 or 5 stars had they snapped together and had some way of keeping them from popping out of the ground or moving around while the cement cures. Maybe some tabs with a hole on the bottom so you could drive a stake through or something. I’ll probably end up ripping it out next year and redo it using another product or keep looking for a contractor to do it.

Durable, easy to assemble and install. Connected easily to flex drain tube. Had a washout area in our flowerbed that was being caused by the run-off of our neighbor's driveway. Installed this along the fence line and ran a flex tube into our yard with a pop-up. Problem solved.

Very well designed to be connected.

Sturdy, for one significant rainfall over last month, water flowed evenly through grate and away from foundation.
