I ordered 2 of the 1 x 8 x 8 and 1 of the 1 x 8 x 6 square edge pine ship-lap board packs. I received the order two days apart which was kind of strange since they all shipped the same day. First, the boards are really 7" wide with only 6 1/4" exposed face. Keep this in mind when calculating how much you need to order. The boards are 5/8" thick also. This may cause you problems with any door jams you may have with your project. Also some of the boards may have some tongue damage from shipping (mine did). The boards will be somewhat warped or cupped so be prepared. With all that said, I expected most of this when I got them so I was prepared. The nice thing is there is a two sided option. One side rough swan and the other is smooth. So that is nice. I did a white wash effect to them and happy with the results. I would order these again for a project. Just be aware of what you are getting so you can prepare your needs correctly. I added a picture of my wall. Please excuse the lighting in the picture. The boards are all the same shade (lighter shade of the left side of the picture) then the picture shows because of the lighting when taking the picture but I hope you see OK.

I love how this turned out! Took about 60 man hours to prime & install 400 sq. '. This included a 2 story wall over stairs. Only note is that it was primed outside in the sun & the boards curved a bit, so they do not lay completely flat on the wall. But we are talking 1/8" & it is acceptable. I chose the 8" wide board, the face is really only 6-1/4" so I am really glad I did!

We purchased 13 boxes of this shiplap and so far (5 boxes in) we are pretty happy with the quality. We are using the smooth sides of these boards for our projects and so far have required minimal sanding, though a few have required a great deal. If you are looking for perfection you might get frustrated, we are not and kind of like the character of each board. Some boards are perfectly flat where others may have a slight bow. Knots are minimal, pretty much just like the picture they use. They are taking both stain and whitewash very well. We priced having shiplap made and also making it ourselves. This was actually cheaper than having it made and since we needed so much for our kitchen walls, we just didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of making ourselves. I would give this 5 stars if it weren't for the bowed boards and the boards that required heavy sanding but so far we have been able to use every board.

Well I ordered 7 packs of these, 42 boards. What a total waste of time and money. Of the 42 boards only 11 are what I call usable, the remaining 31 are either cracked, twisted or cupped and will in no way look good no matter what I do when installing. I will repack and return to the store where I picked them up. Total disappointment, but I should not be surprised, these are just like all the other lumber at HD, junk.
