I would recommend using the Red Head Hex-Head Sleeve Anchors, they are designed for fastening into porous concrete, hollow or grout-filled block and brick.

Heavy-Duty Masonry Anchor (4-Pack) is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 6.

I was not clear on not hitting the nuts with the hammer that stripped the nut and anchor thread, making it hard to tighten. I actually had to remove the anchors and installed new ones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I used a new Bosch 3/8 Masonary bit with a hammer drill, but 2 of the 4 anchors failed. I'm literally hosed! I would do something different than using these anchors; 2 of 4 failed for me. I am not too happy that these would fail so easily; I followed the directions to drill the holes no more than 2.25" deep with the correct drill bit. I should have used a smaller drill bit than what they recommended in the instructions which was 3/8". I had already cemented a post for the other side of the fence with 75 lbs. concrete. If I can't fix these anchors, I'll be expending a whole lot of time, and wasting a bunch of money on this fence! Very disappointed with this product and home depot product. I have no idea how to fix this mess.

I think these are cheaply made, the threads stripped on every one as I tapped them into the holes. I went to home depot and bought the off-the-shelf anchors from the fastener section and those worked fine. (VERY frustrating when these don't work, as there is no good way to extract and start over!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ordered, but didn't use... I went to the manufacturer's website (USDoorFence-dot-com) and coordinated the parts I thought that I needed. The manufacturer's product pages linked back to their item on the home depot website for the actual ordering. I substituted tapcon anchors for my installation because it would be easier to correct mistakes. (Glad I did when I found that I needed to move one post to the right 2") If anchoring in concrete, buy the best drill bit you can. My cheap one dulled in the middle of the 2nd hole.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it suppose too I've used these several times to hang metal fences into block walls. They work great as long as you use the recommended Drill Bit suggested in the package!!! Do NOT make the hole too big AND drill it deep enough for the entire anchor to fit! Keep in mind that these anchors are pretty much a one shot hardware device so don't rush and again Do Not make the hole to WIDE!
