Q:How many 48" stove pipes are needed? I know they're stacked vertically then go horizontal to lead to outside venting of smoke.
by|Oct 1, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  This will depend on the Installers specifications in your state. as you local codes will dictate what can be used. normally a 4ft will come off the top and elbow out the house into a clean out T then turn vertical you just have to remember to go 2 foot about anything that is within 10 feet of where the pipe exhaust exits. this is called a 2-10 rule. again you will need to get with a certified installer in your state.

    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  If your stove has become discolored, it is possible it is being overfired. If you chose to paint it you should only use a high heat resistant paint.

Q:Can I use this in our fireplace and let it vent up our brick chimney without having to install a stovepipe? Our chimney is a large brick and mortar.
        by|Jul 16, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  The masonry chimney must be code approved and have a flue liner. The masonry chimney must comply with UL, ULC codes. Before using an existing masonry chimney, clean the chimney and inspect the flue liner to be sure it is safe to use. Make repairs before attaching the heater. If the connector pipe must go through a combustible wall before entering the masonry chimney, consult a qualified mason or chimney dealer. The installation must conform to local fire codes, and NFPA 211.

          Bad execution
Ordered stove from local retailer, arrived fine. Assembly was straight forward, but several issues. Feet bolted to bottom of unit, but not very securely. Flue collar tabs were drilled out in such a poor manner that the holes did not align with the holes in the stove body, hence it would not securely seat in place. Finally, the door was misaligned to the point it had a 1/4 inch gap around part of the sealing area, so smoke could escape when in use. Called U.S. Stove about issues and they offered to replace it if I destroyed my unit. Asked if they could guarantee new unit would be any better than the one I had. Was told they would replace that one also if it was not good. Obviously a little quality control at the Chinese factory would resolve such issues, as other reviews had the same problems. Returned stove to retailer for refund. They immediately sent it to the metal recycle dumpster when they saw the problems. Agreed it was unsafe. Do not waste time or money.

            Absolutely LOVE this little woodstove
We purchased this stove in an older model in 2018 for the small cabin we live in and I absolutely love it. Every once in awhile it smoked out the front while lighting fires but we realized that it wouldn't do that if we did so without the door all the way open. Easy fix. I can't believe how much heat this little stove puts out. We plan to buy another for our other cabin -- love!

              Heats great
I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan, it heats my whole 1200 sq ft house. I'm only writing this review because I read one person's comments about it "being a piece of crap". Maybe he got a defective product, maybe he doesn't realize the difference between high efficiency wood stoves and old school wood stoves. These have a secondary burn system, love it. I admit at first I struggled with the idea of not adjusting dampers and there was a little bit of a learning curve but these are great

                absolutly horrible
Cant draft at all (runnibg a completely verticle pipe through the roof). Half the smoke comes out the door and breathers even when “warm”. I heat my house with a different stove so i am not just a novice with no clue hiw to fire a woidstove. I paid 150 bucks brand new from a old lady who purchased a house with it new in the box, and i still feel compltely ripped off. Buy something else period.

                        Perfect Stove for my Needs
I needed a small stove for for a 600 sq. ft. basement apartment, cold and a little damp during the winter months. This stove fits my needs perfectly. I like that it can holder longer logs. I need to manage the size of the fires to keep it from overheating, but I have a couple magnetic stove thermometers and with a little practice I have been able to manage the heat output well. I bought a stove pipe damper to shut down the combustion quickly, but haven't bothered to install it yet.
