USG Sheetrock Brand TexoLite Sanded Paste Stipple produces a light, sand-textured finish on interior surfaces. Can be applied to gypsum, drywall, plaster, concrete, wood, and other materials.     Q:I'm looking for a product to texture a new drywall(unpainted) ceiling. Does this contain primer(pva) or is it necessary to prime the ceiling first?

    A:  JamesMichael Thank you for your inquiry. Application of a prime coat is necessary to equalize surface porosity. After prepared surfaces have thoroughly dried, apply a prime coat of SHEETROCK® First Coat flat latex paint or a good quality interior latex flat wall paint with high solids content. Prime coat should be applied undiluted and allowed to dry before decorating.

          too course
          When doing a drywall repair or patch this product is not recommened. It will stand out in comparison to the orginal sand texture ten fold. You will end up having to retexture the entire room for it to match. Way to heavy on the sand and no way to feather out this goopy slop they call paint
