Thank you for your inquiry. Use only alkali resistant tilebacker tape over Durock. Drywall tape is not approved for use over Durock. Hope this helps.

This looses 1 star not because of the product, but because as a non-professional DIYer I don't like doing this part. Inexperience aside seems like good stuff. I don't think its the product but more the technique and who's using it. I like how it has the crease in the middle like all drywall paper tape apparently. Honestly, it said chance to win $1,000 for a review...

Surprisingly easy to use, even for a novice
We're remodeling our bathroom and after installing new drywall on the ceiling and walls I decided to try finishing the walls myself. I've never taped drywall joints before so was a little apprehensive but decided to use the paper tape instead of the fiberglass mesh. This tape is very easy to use and even a novice can get good results quickly. In my case, I decided to use 90 minute setting compound so I could take my time learning how to do it properly. There were a couple of things I found really useful: 1. When taping a joint like the wall to ceiling, fold the paper first. Flatten out the fold before wetting the tape. 2. Before you press it into the setting compound, pull the tape quickly through a bowl of clean water and pull the tape between your first two fingers to remove the excess water. The joint knife slides over the paper much easier when it is damp.

Easy to use and holds in place
I used this in conjunction with the wallboard joint compound and Flex 'n Fill premium spackling paste to patch a hole in the wall from installing a new faucet. What is great about Home Depot is they have all the items needed to get the job done. The quality is always on the spot.
