Can I purchase a piece of bathroom sheetrock instead of the entire 4 x 8 ?

We are repairing a section at the bottom of the shower door and only need about a 3 ft sq section.
Asked by: janett
Yes you can buy a smaller piece, but in my area it is usually only a $1 or 2 cheaper than a full sheet of drywall.

Can this tape be used to patched ceiling and wall drywall that has been cut out and put back (to run wiring)? The pieces have been painted prior to being cut out and put back.
Asked by: Confused
yes, but you may have to send the area first. Then apply the first/bedding coat and two more coats and it should be fine.

how do i get this seam tape to adhere ?

Tried everything suggested, and still bubbles up and won't stick
Asked by: tony
Generally it sticks to the wet drywall mud that you apply to the seam right before applying the drywall tape. The tape doesn’t have adhesive glue on its back. Just stick it to a thin layer of drywall mud that you apply to the seam before you tape it!! Hope this helps!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly easy to use, even for a novice We're remodeling our bathroom and after installing new drywall on the ceiling and walls I decided to try finishing the walls myself. I've never taped drywall joints before so was a little apprehensive but decided to use the paper tape instead of the fiberglass mesh. This tape is very easy to use and even a novice can get good results quickly. In my case, I decided to use 90 minute setting compound so I could take my time learning how to do it properly. There were a couple of things I found really useful: 1. When taping a joint like the wall to ceiling, fold the paper first. Flatten out the fold before wetting the tape. 2. Before you press it into the setting compound, pull the tape quickly through a bowl of clean water and pull the tape between your first two fingers to remove the excess water. The joint knife slides over the paper much easier when it is damp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and holds in place I used this in conjunction with the wallboard joint compound and Flex 'n Fill premium spackling paste to patch a hole in the wall from installing a new faucet. What is great about Home Depot is they have all the items needed to get the job done. The quality is always on the spot.
