We are remodeling a home with a very heavy texture that dates the house. We have used several boxes of this mud to go over the old texture and it has turned out great. It is easy to work with and goes really fast. This mud sets up quickly and ready for paint usually the next day.

i have been using this mud professionally for about 25 years. The all purpose has better adhesive properties than its competitors. I use this to embed my tape and my first coat. I then use the USG Topping mixed half and half with sheetrock lightwieght ( blue box) for my remaining two coats. P.S if you have never used boxed muds there is a trick to getting it out of the box into the bucket. 1.) open the box and pull plastic around sides 2.) grab box and go level horizontal and slam the box on bucket edge until half of the mud has slipped into the bucket 3.) then finish dumping remainder in. make sure you have good irish music playing and enjoy. your friend Big Bobby the builder
