Minor Patching Repairs

Sand repair area and fill with joint compound. Let harden. Add second coat if necessary. Sand and prime when dry.

Embedding Joint Tape

Fill seams with compound. Apply tape, smooth onto compound with taping knife. Spread thin second coat on top of tape.

Covering Fasteners

To determine if fasteners are seated, draw clean knife over each. If metallic ring occurs, carefully drive fastener below surface.

Finishing Tip

Use fine-grit sanding block to prevent digging into compound. Avoid roughening surface paper. (Repair roughening with small amount of compound.)

A:  Plus 3 is an all around drywall compound. It is not like that super light weight whipped compound.

    A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Sheetrock Plus 3 Ready Mix Joint Compound is a light weight all purpose joint compound. It can be used for embedding USG Sheetrock® Brand Paper Joint Tape, for applying drywall filling and finishing coats. Also for covering fasteners, USG Sheetrock® Brand Corner Bead and Trim, skim coating drywall surfaces and hand-applying simple textures, as well as for repairing cracks on drywall and plaster.       A:  Thank you for your inquiry. A 4.5 gallon bucket of Sheetrock Plus 3 joint compound will tape and finish the joints and fasteners of approximately 478 square feet of wallboard to a level 4 finish. Please note that this does not include skim coating the entire surface of the board. Hope this helps.

        A:  It really depends on how well the drywall fits together. The first coat uses the most. The next coat use a lot less. Some of the new techniques have very little waste so less sanding. I am a DIYer and my first room I used a lot and sanded a lot. Now I sand very little before I am ready to primer.

              A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Sheetrock Plus 3 Ready Mix Joint Compound can be used for repairing small cracks or holes in drywall and plaster. It is not recommend for application over wood. Hope this helps.

                A DIY Artist Dream Product
                For a DIY PROJECT person it's perfect. The biggest selling point is the convenience factor of not having to mix and eliminating the need of having a bucket and mixing tools. I've used it to create a textured plaster wall as well as to up cycle old vases into pottery pieces. So far everything has bonded well with no cracking.

                  Does what its intended to do
                  I have used this joint compound for almost 4 years now and have been happy with the results. It mixes up well with a little bit of water to thin it out for precise applications. It has met my expectations so far and I have not had a reason to dislike it. It is very affordable and this bucket will go a long way.
