Just as expected. Had windows that I removed and needed to sheetrock over the openings. I'm still new to the home improvement stuff but it wasn't hard to fit everything in as needed.

Great product used throughout house. Didn't intend to use, I noticed that it was allot more sturdier on installation. But way heavier than the 1/2 inch, the Drywaller crew were not experienced installers, and made a mess, and installed 5/8" instead of 1/2".

I needed to use this particular Sheetrock to cover knotty pine wood from 1964 that was plastered all over my den and kitchen. I was in the process of turning the first floor of my home into a daycare and the knotty pine wood was a fire hazard. The only issue with the Sheetrock is the thickness and the smell. It has a unusual sickening smell, the application of the drywall mud reduced the smell somewhat and hopefully after it’s painted the smell will be gone.

This product is required by code to separate living space from a garage. It weighs 70.4 lbs. per sheet so you may need some help to install it. I use a multitool to cut out light switch and outlet holes in the drywall. Normal scoring and sheet breaking in a straight line works fine with the 5/8 thick material. Thanks Chipmaker

In our recent house purchase (house built in 2005), I found the floor in a bump out closet into the garage had insulation that was falling down (pic1.jpg). Probably been like that since new. I removed the insulation from the basement side and found there was no drywall attached to the floor joists on the garage side (pic2.jpg). I cut pieces of the drywall and installed them on the floor joists (pic3.jpg view from basement, pic4.jpg view from garage), and reinstalled the insulation. I need to finish the taping and apply joint compound. I used the firecode drywall since the drywall is in the garage.

Haven't tested the fireproof part and hope i never will - thats why i couldn't give it 5 stars. HomeDepot delivery is fast. I suppose they outsource delivery because I've had good logistics companies and poor ones. In either case, as a non-professional I underestimated how heavy and awkward these were. moving 15 of them 10 feet through my front door alone up 2 steps gave me a good idea of what I was in for. haha...

Home Depot was a great place to buy Gypsum board for my bathroom ceiling remodel project. Their staff helped me load the sheet on a push cart and then waited for me to check out so they could help me load the gypsum board on my vans roof rack. The board is easy to cut and install. In addition, it was nice to shop at HD as I was able to purchase new LED lights and an exhaust fan.

Just bought and installed 50 sheets of this in our rental. Delivery was great. It was raining and they wrapped it for us. They brought it deep into our parking lot and placed it exactly where we wanted. $79 delivery fee, but $40 more so we had a smaller delivery window (2 hours) vs 4 or 12 hours. We have to use 5/8 inch for all common walls and ceilings. We used 1/2 inch elsewhere. 5/8 inch drywall slows the fire from spreading to the rest of the structure. If you buy over $1500 worth of products at a time, get into the bid room and save some money

Finally got around to making a new attic access panel. After 30 years, the old one was too beat up to save. Just had to cut the appropriate size of sheetrock. This 5/8 sheetrock was plenty heavy and strong to make the access panel. I also gave the new piece of sheetrock a little bit of texture with some all purpose topping compound. Then I primed and painted the top and bottom and all the edges. Looks brand new.

Wow! This stuff is HEAVY! This board is easily scored & snapped, but you still have to cut the back facing paper so be careful. I learned to cut from the front & snap it then cut the backing paper on the other side. This would best be used with a helper available. I'm a big guy & it was awkward to move & work with alone, I did it but it took some time. Great Product & I have still more to buy & hang.

    Drywall Purchase
Drywall was packaged and ready for pick-up. Loaded onto truck with ease. Product was clean and ready for install. Smooth lines and square. This made installation less of a hassle. Because the drywall was firecode core 5/8", product does have some weight to it. Make sure you have help for moving and installing of product.
