Sheetrock brand Ultra Light Firecode Core 5/8 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. Gypsum Board is the first and lightest 5/8 in. type X panel available. This innovative panel is designed to achieve the same superior performance for interior wall and ceiling installations as our standard 5/8 in. type X, but with significantly less weight. The reduced weight allows for potential productivity gains, reduced fatigue during handling and possible safety benefits. Panels feature tapered long edges for easy finishing.

what is the best type of drywall for a garage

USG has not tested the safety of our products on birds. However we do have Safety Data sheets for all of our products, as well as Health Product Declarations for some of our products. (15.9 mm) USG Sheetrock® Brand Firecode® X Panels at a reduced weight. They have the following features: •Offer comparable sound, strength, sag and impact resistance to standard 5/8 in. (15.9 mm) Type X •Comply with ASTM C1396 specifications for 5/8 in. (15.9 mm) Type X gypsum wallboard •UL Classification as to fire resistance, surface-burning characteristics and noncombustibility •Achieved GREENGUARD Gold Certification and qualifies as a low VOC emitting material (meets CA 01350) Hope this helps.

Ultralight Fire Code X Sheetrock is not water resistant. We do offer Sheetrock that is mold and moisture resistant. Look for Sheetrock Mold Tough Gypsum board which has a green paper face. Hope this helps.

Ultralight compared to the older panels, it is still 62 pounds to horse around. A quarter thicke...
Ultralight compared to the older panels, it is still 62 pounds to horse around. A quarter thicker than half inch yet half again the weight due to firewall rating. I could just lift a piece of one of these on the drywall lift to get it up to the top of the wall. The second tier was lower than the lift but there is a lot better leverage lifting to a lower height. The thick panel is hard on scoring knives but that comes with the firewall territory. It all went up and blended well with previous work.
