Fav bulb as an Interior Designer
This is my favorite bulb to use in my client's houses as well as my own. For others out there: this is not an incandescent bulb, but instead a Halogen, which is misleading because of marketing. That means it uses less energy than a typical incandescent bulb (29W Halogen = 40W incandescent).
Reasons why this bulb is superior to others after years of searching:
- dimmable
- uses less energy than incandescent
- over 2700k but less than 3000k in color temperature (stop using daylight bulbs in homes. it's too harsh)
- doesn't have the ugly white base that other energy saving bulbs typically have, like LEDs
- has a clear filament instead of the ugly yellow ones that LED typically have
- thick clear glass that has lasted longer than advertised
Halogens are the way to go in residential settings, and I highly recommend switching over all your bulbs to this type. I always keep this 40W equivalent on hand in my house, as well as the 60W and 75W equivalents to make sure I have the right light output.

I have two side lamps in my bathroom. I use them for shaving, etc. They have touch sensitive dimmers on them and it has been hard to find bulbs that work in them. Most three-way bulbs are too intense. Most cool white bulbs are too dim, and compact florescents are not very dimmable (or if they are they are very expensive). This bulb is perfect and, according to the outer packaging, will cost only $3.49 per year to operate them 3 hours a day. So I should even save money. The best thing is that the bulbs I did have inside the lamps were only putting out 300 lumen and these put out 380 lumen, for the same cost for energy. So I can definitely recommend them.

I already reviewed this item.
To repeat: I DO LIKE THIS BULLB, BUT, I SAW IT ON YOUR WEBSITE AND IT DID STATE IT WAS FOR OUT SIDE USE. I had purchased this bulb several times in the local HOME DEPOT, but wanted another that would definitely be incandescent and work outside in covered light fixture. Well, when I arrived at the HOME DEPOT STORE TO P/U THE BULBS, THEYWERE EXACTLY LIKE THE ONES ON DISPLAY FOR INSIDE!!. I am disappointed, for the add description is incorrect!!
