Heater Hat - Outdoor Patio, Propane or Electric Heater, Insulation Cover

Purchased with the hope that I’d be able to use my heater under the insulated aluminum patio cover with just 16” clearance. Using an IR thermometer I was able to verify that the heat on the ceiling was reduced but not nearly as much as I’d hoped. The radiated heat from the top of the dome is cut very significantly and I can comfortably put my hand directly on the top of the heater hat. But air under the dome is actually hotter with the heater hat and that now extra heated air will convect around the perimeter of the hat and rise to the ceiling. It took longer but temps on my ceiling were still rising when I stopped testing at 150° That said the temps measured at the seats around the heater were several degrees warmer with the heater hat than without, so there is definitely a performance benefit.

We love this thing. Works exactly as - no, better than - expected. We got it to keep heat off our porch ceiling, since we have just barely the recommended clearance - but we love that it also increases the amount of heat we feel while sitting beneath it. It just lays on top, like a beret, and is secured by four screws. We were only able to get two of the screws in, but it hasn’t budged. It did smoke for maybe 45 minutes after we first started it, as the directions indicate, but then stopped. Very happy overall. Worth every penny.

Fits well, easy to install and looks good. It also does what it said it would. More heat down, less heat up. Nice product.

The heater hat is terrific. It deflects the heat downward where it is needed most rather the radiating through the metal cap on the patio heater.

This product is excellent. I have a low hanging vinyl roof on my porch and the patio heater was making it extremely hot. We ordered this hat hoping it would solve the problem and man did it ever. Now even on high my ceiling is just warm to the touch. It sends all the heat back down toward the ground and not losing it all thru the tin top on the heater. We also purchased the sweet heat deflector that easily clips to the top of the patio heater. This directs the heat exactly where you want it installs in minutes. We live in NH and our outside open patio is easily 35 degrees warmer than the outside temp. Both products I would highly recommend if you have a always cold wife like mine..you won't regret it

It stops heat from escaping into the atmosphere and keeps heat where you want it. One issue is that the instructions say the washers are stainless but they are not. The screws are regular steel too. I replaced them with an all stainless combo of hex bolts, washers, lock washers and hex nuts. This makes removal, if needed, much easier. Other than that, great product.

Amazing how this heater hat can push all the heat down where you need it. You can actually place your hand on top of the blanket and it's just warm to the touch.
