I am going to order a bedroom door and a sliding glass patio door, I want delivery and installation, if service available, please provide cost. Thank you. Joyce
Asked by: Joyce
I bought this screen door a couple of months ago, and have the extension bars extended as far as possible, but find the door slips out of the tracks easily. If the door was 1" taller, then I probably wouldn't have any problems with it. I did not install the latch as I couldn't figure out how to do it, but also found if I start pulling the door open at the handle then push or pull on the edge of the door, a little farther down, then the screen door does not slip off the tracks. I've been doing this so long, several times a day, that I just do it automatically. I would suggest, if the opening of the track is at the max that this door will extend, try to find a door that is a little taller.

Lock for 30 x 80 bronze metal slider

My window requires two sliders that come together in the middle. I would like to be able to lock them at night in the middle. Do you have any hardware that can do that?
Asked by: screener
Thank you for your interest in our Standard Bronze Sliding Patio Screen door. Unfortunately we do not offer any doors that can lock in the middle nor do we have the hardware to do that. We would suggest speaking with a Millworks associate in your local Home Depot store. I hope this information is helpful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not happy Nice looking door, and frame, however the rollers are all plastic, and is garbage. When you extend the door to make it fit a 80" height, it is very unstable, rocks when you try to slide it, and it comes off track. Poor design for the money it costs to buy this thing. Its going back, not worth the headache.

This sliding screen door, without a doubt, is one of the worst, cheaply made products I've ever bought. Shame on Home Depot for even having this in its line. It's flimsy, and worst of all, has the most cheap set of plastic rollers one could possibly imagine. Can't even describe how bad they are. Don't expect this thing to last. Just hope it has a return warranty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ridiculous Junk Flimsy. The reinforced frame is not. It bends way too much and binds on the rollers. The improved rollers are cheap junk. The spring load is so weak that the simple weight of the door collapses down to the frame. 80" is measured from the maximum expansion of the rollers. It does not roll within the track of an 80" door. The the maximum screen frame size is 79 1/2" and leaves a gap at the top, held in only by the rollers. Lastly, the overly flexible light gauge frame rocks the bottom rollers off the track all the time despite the maximum adjustments.

I have adjusted many times to no avail. I've learned that if I open and shut it by pushing or pulling on the lower 1/3 of screen, that it will stay on the track better. I never figured out how to put the latch on the handle either. I've looked at the instructions a few times, and tried to figure out how the 12 pieces fit together but the instructions are not clear. I suppose somewhere on the internet there are better instructions. I've read the ratings before purchasing, but decided to give it try anyhow, so wasn't that surprised that this screen didn't work well. Bought a track home and expected this screen to be similar to what I had, but turns out this screen is much cheaper quality.

This could have been fixed with a very minor design change so that the tit on the sliders descended into the slots left open by removing the rollers. It's just lazy, stupid engineering that results in so many of us purchasing this substandard replacement door. And I don't care if you think posting how this meets industry standards excuses your failure to make this robust.

This "Standard" door will not expand to 80" at full extension, despite the claim made by Home Depot below. At most it gets to 79" and continually comes off the track. The rollers are very poorly designed and very cheap plastic. The "Ultimate" door, by the same company, which says it expands to 81-1/2 is a slightly better door and will at least stay on the tracks of an 80" frame. It has the same cheap rollers, but a slightly better in-frame handle design as well. The top and bottom metal headers are shorter than the rest of the frame so it leaves a gap at top & bottom when the door is closed, so still a crummy, cheap door but at a cheap price and at least it stays on the tracks.
