One can be added to each side but there may not be enough room on the inside of the slider as it moves past the post.
Thank you for your interest in our Pet Grilles. We do not offer any extenders for the grilles. Perhaps you should speak with a hardware associate at your local Home Depot store for assistance. They may be able to suggest a solution for you. I hope this is helpful.
I can't help you here because I used Rivnuts and machine screws to mount the grill to my sliding screen door. It has a hollow aluminum frame and sheet metal screws would strip out over time. However, I suspect that #6x 5/8" or #8x5/8" pan head sheet metal screws might work OK. Just see what size will fit thru the holes in the grill frame mounting tabs. The pilot hole should be smaller than the screw size, just big enough for the screw tip to start.

Yes you can. I did the same thing on a sliding screen door.
You measure the screen door because that's where it will be attached. It works really well. Bonnie
Thank you for your interest in our Pet Grilles. Please view the documents in the "Info & Guides" section of homedepot.com for more information on installation. There you will also find diagrams showing the exact dimensions of the pet grille. I hope this information is helpful.
Thank you for your interest in our Pet Grilles. We do not recommend using command strips to attach the pet grille. I hope this is helpful.
You can trim the ends to make it fit with a dremil or just a hack saw. You will have to cut down both sides. Inside Screw holes will accommodate this
I mounted mine on a 36" door. The mounting holes are 34" apart. We've had it for several years now.
