36 in. x 80 in. Lone Star Wineberry Recessed Mount All Season Security Door with Insect Screen and Glass Inserts

I am very disappointed with this door. The installer MAX is awesome as usual but this door is ridiculous to call it a security door. How can it be security when the width between bars is about 6 inches wide! I could slash the screen and open the door!!! I will be contacting Home Depot tomorrow morning asap. Overpriced for what I got.

The star is thin and stamped steel. It is lightly tack welded to the door.

A good looking door when complete but universal instructions and a universal weatherstrip aren't very good.

My wife chose this door because she wanted a secure screen door that did not make her feel like she was in prison. The Home Depot display really caught her attention. We chose 'ship to store' and the door was ready for pickup a couple of weeks faster than anticipated. We were not charged for the door until the day we picked it up. The packaging was fine and the door arrived in good shape. The instructions are at best average. On the other hand, assembly is not difficult, except for the door closer that was included. There really is no good place to attach the closer to this door due to the design, and the instructions did not give any mounting suggestions. We decided to just not install it. The silver mounting screws provided are not very long and do not inspire confidence in the security of the door. I reinforced them with some 3-1/2" deck screws screwed into the door studs. The instructions suggest that the silver mounting screws should be painted to match the door. However, there is no paint included. I think for the price of this door, they could have included a small finger polish sized bottle of matching paint with a brush in the cap. We bought the copper-clad color door and have not found any matching paint. I will probably end up using a dark brown. My big disappointment is the overall build quality of the door. The cut-outs for the screws on the glass and screen panels are oval shapped and a bit too long. When the panels are mounted, there is alot of light that shines between the mounting screw and the hole. This really distracts from the appearance of the door when looking outside in the daytime. I have decided to buy some small, dark washers for each screw to block the light. When I was installing the panels, I found at least one place on the door where a hole for the screw was drilled incorrectly, and another hole was drilled right next to it. Luckily, the panel covers the mistake. Overall, it seems to be a nice sturdy door, but I am not sure that it is any better than the other storm/security doors that Home Depot sells. The design is just nicer.
