I requested this double cylinder deadbolt so that I could have a spare deadbolt in the event we have a second break-in attempt at our home in which case it is advised to replace your deadbolt, just like with car seats that are in a car accident. Seeing as how we've had the same brand and style of deadbolt, just in a different finish on our doors for the past 6 years, I have absolutely no reservations in recommending this product.

Safe & Secure - Just what I was looking to put in a door that also has a window. We moved into a building and it had a deadbolt that was a single cylinder and if someone broke the window they would have immediate access to the whole building. This lock took care of that in a couple of minutes. I was able to remove the old lock and install the new lock in maybe 2 minutes. The locks are solid and operates smoothly. It provides a nice piece of mind that it will slow someone down if they try to break in.

Universal Hardware's Commercial 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 in. Double Cylinder Satin Chrome Heavy-Duty Industrial Deadbolt is a high grade lock. The exterior of this level lock is solid zinc, while the keyway is solid brass. Instructions are excellent: showing diagrams and words to explain the process. Spanish directions are provided on a separate paper. Am English/Spanish door template too is provided, separate from the directions. While the webpage states the backset is 2-3/4" fixed; the backset enclosed was an adjustable at either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4". This is a keyed deadbolt requiring a key to lock and to unlock it from either side. Be sure to check your local building code if this is installed in a residential location as some localities require a non-key access for exit, i.e. a knob. The safety cage is a unique feature. Be sure to follow the directions with the back inside piece as the tail needs to be vertical. Overall a heavy duty well made double keyed lock. With decades in property management, this one will do the job.

After a recent rash of thefts from neighborhood sheds, I thought it might be a good time to upgrade the deadbolt protecting all my lawn care equipment. This Universal Hardware Commercial 2-3/4 IN. Double Cylinder Satin Chrome Deadbolt is perfect for my application. My shed door has a small glass window, so double-cylinder was a must for security. Right out of the package this thing screams "strength". Construction is much heavier than the usual residential grade lock sets found at most home stores and operation is smooth. Installation is a snap using the included printed instructions. The latch can be adjusted for either a 2 3/8" or a 2 3/4" backset. The trim/finish is basic but attractive. At this price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a better lock set. My chainsaw will sleep better at night, knowing it is safe. I'm pleased with this product - highly recommended!

This is the first time I have bought a lock from Universal Hardware and my first impression overall is very good. At $39 it is a good value for the quality. A little over the top with the use of "Commercial", "Heavy-Duty" and "Industrial" deadbolt in their description but I guess whatever works. I have installed many of these kinds of locks and this one does seem to be heavy duty and made with quality materials so I would be surprised if it gives me any issues over time and use. The fact that it comes with a limited lifetime warranty is also an attribute that I like but hope that I will never have to use it. Plain looking but it is designed to be used for commercial use as stated.

Quality product...super heavy.....nice looking.....very practical...... if you need it to be keyed differently, I have found that ANY lock you buy at home depot, they will re key for FREE. That is part of the service, MY home depot provides....not sure if it is the same for all Home Depots, but certainly ask them. Double cylinder is better than the single, so worth the extra couple bucks... installs like a normal dead bolt.

This double cylinder deadbolt lock is a certified as ANSI grade 1 and it has the weight, durability, and workmanship attesting to this certification. The lock comes with everything including drilling template to properly drill and mount the lock to either steel or wooden doors. All that is needed are drill with 2-1/8inch and 1-inch large diameter hole drill bits to complete the install. Decently priced and is a notch better than the homeowner grade locks currently sold by competitors. Huge weight difference between this lock and homeowner grade and you can feel this weight difference! I do wish they had a 2-1/2 inch version so I could replace my current deadbolt locks with this superior deadbolt lock.

This is a very sturdy (heavy duty) commercial level deadbolt. If you are looking for a bulletproof lock that is also attractive then this is a great choice. If you have a window in your door then you need to install a double sided deadbolt which means that it is keyed on both sides. That way a crook can't break the glass and reach through to flip the lever and gain access. Installation is as easy as any deadbolt.

Sturdy. Heavy duty. Industrial strength. Just picking up the package, you can tell this is a sturdy lock. I particularly like the tamper proof collars. Both of them have significant weight. Add the security of the collar that goes inside the door and you have a great lock.
Beyond the security, there are other nice features. Finishes are have protective film over them. Rather than just depend on the plate on the door jam, there is a piece for you to put in the door jam for extra security.
