How would you attach two pieces together so they open and shut?

Answer This Question

Hello ic2bro, You could use E6000 adhesive to attach a small piano hinge to each piece of wood. It would hold very well and work perfectly.

Can this be used as a door skin for a hollow core door

Answer This Question

This product can be used as a door skin for a hollow core door.

By|May 5, 2023

It should work fine. I actually used it to replace the weathered exterior layer of a shed door and it worked for that. When you say 'hollow core', be aware that it may need a cross piece to be added about midway up, inside the door, if the existing door does not have one.

Hello RealEstateRob, Yes, you can use it. Just make sure that the paneling does not make contact with the garage floor. Leave at least a half an inch. between the panel bottom and floor. I hope this helps. Cheers, Chris

I was not just pleased, I was thrilled. It was way beyond what I expected for "utility" paneling. I expected something more monochromatic like particle board; what I got was naturally beautiful to my eyes that prefer things as natural-looking as possible. The wood grain has some lovely patterns in it, and we actually played "mix and match" while putting it up, creating some very eye-catching designs with it. I won't have to paint or wallpaper this stuff. I'm going to play with Linseed oil and walnut stain just to bring out the grain and help preserve the wood, but that's the limit of it. It was also very lightweight and easy to handle, especially for the overhead on the Cathedral ceiling. At least two people who've seen it (so far) have said they're going to use it for their next wall-covering projects. So, yeah ... five stars and high recommendations.

Using to replace the veneer on a door. This is my second one. The first went well so I'm doing another (door on left in picture is done, door on right is one I'm doing now). We had to sort through several sheets to get a 'good one' this time, so the supplier's quality may be declining, but we did find one.

Really nice grain and appearance but couldn't take any water. I like to wet sand before staining to make the grain pop out more and the veneer just peeled off. To be fair I didn't check to see if it was ok to use in a wet environment but common on I brushed on the water and sanded and it separated all over the place. Took stain well grain still popped but I could only really use it to test color match.

        Sturdy product for making props
We used this product to make props for our Halloween and Christmas parties. Our Social Committee builds the props and we put on retro mock game shows for the rest of the company (with audience volunteers of course). Perfect for our use!
