I am a contractor and we have installed two of these. Both of the ones we purchased had stainless steel hardware, so they wouldn't be too far off from brushed nickel. They are not too hard to install for two people and it is a very high quality door.
no. the actual size of the glass (both pieces) is 52 1/2" and you need about 2" overlap at the opening.
The door needs to fit 50" or a little less, that will give you an overlap to keep water in the shower. I have installed 2 of these in my house, but I am always doing home improvements. You need someone with lots of experience or hire a professional. Good Luck!
Your doors will not overlap more than 1/2" since the doors actually measure 52 1/2" - you should really have about 2" overlap to keep water inside.
The installation guide says you can use epoxy if screws are not desired or possible.
This dimension is 1.25 inches.
The glass door/fixed sections can be flipped so door opens either way. You should plan on a 5-6" curb under the glass since the rod is 4" below the height of the glass. I planned on a slopped floor but my head almost hit the rod when I tried to walk in. I couldn't find taller glass with the 50" opening I had to work with. But this is a great glass door set otherwise.
I don't see water spots. I usually wipe down, but at times I don't and see no spots.
Yes, this can be installed with a step in.
Yes, the door has a treatment but you should still squegee it down after you use it. We have this door now for over 6 months and it still looks brand new. It wasn’t easy to install as you really need 2 people but it is well worth it!
