Since I own a 60/40 stainless sink, I have this on the larger and deeper side of the sink ( the 60 part ) and I put dish detergent in it for washing dishes. I'm glad it swings back and forth to get it out of the way so after I put the dish detergent into the sink and add water it's not hanging over the sink . I also use this dish detergent as hand soap. Soap is soap and just to wash hands , works great. Even though it has a smaller soap reservoir than the ones that have a plastic bottle that breaks off in time , this reservoir is made of brass and will last and not break off like the plastic reservoirs do. Been there, done that.

If you are having a professional countertop installation of quartz, granite or marble, the installers are enormously trained in this area. They are used to drilling holes for these soap dispensers, as well as the faucet. They do hundreds over a year. First you need to determine how thick the countertop surface will be, and then call your contact person that is providing the countertop and ask them if a soap dispenser that has a neck of 2-5/8 inches will work. When the rep comes to your home to measure for the countertop fabrication, have the faucet and soap dispenser ON HAND for them to inspect. That person should be able to tell you "yes" these will work, or "no" they won't. The rep will likely measure the diameter of the faucet and soap dispenser at that time to ensure the holes that are drilled by the company fabricating your countertop will drill proper sized holes. They're the experts ask questions.
