My concern when ordering was that the PVC post and caps would be cheaply made and thin. This was not the case. This is a well built sleeve and it worked perfectly. The PVC glue included was good quality and everything went together nicely. Looks great, my wife loves it so it's all good.

The New England Arbors light post has design deficiencies. The interior connector that holds the separate pieces of the poll together needs improvement. The sleeve that connects the post elements together negatively impacts the post fit over the wooden post support. The post tight does not fit uniformly true and tight to the wood post because of the offset created by the sleeve. The manufacturer obviously knows this. The correct design is to have pre-formed shim / spacers molded or attached into the walls of the post so that the post sets uniform and true to the wood. Hate me for expecting a correct quality designed post.
The company absolutely, positively doesn't provide enough bonding glue with the kit. It's a customer complaint they seem to ignore. Someone at the factory might be able to bond it with the tiny glue kit supplied but the first time installer won't.
For the money the post is good enough. A very average three star product.
Regarding the electric - had a licenced electrician install the power. Top box is a three way switch. The light can be controlled from both the post itself and inside the house. Bottom boxes are electric receptacles. I would prefer to have white boxes but they were not available at the time of installation.

Home Depot had the best price for this particular post. The shipping was quick and all posts arrived in good condition. We installed four of these along our 200 ft driveway. The assembly instructions were easy to follow even though there is not much to assemble; just the base and the top which are fastened with PVC cement(included). Mounting screws are also included for fixing the 5X5 post box to a 4x4 pressure treated post. Instructions were included for mounting in a dug hole or using a post mount kit (not included but available at Home Depot for a reasonable cost. The 5X5 dimension of the main post allowed for adjusting the PVC post to the pressure treated post to get everything looking square. Our solar lamps mounted easily (using set screws and purchased separately) on the std mount flange on the top piece. Very satisfied with the product.

Nice light post
I looked at cheaper priced aluminum posts and didn't care for them, this one was little pricey but much better looking and matched the vinyl accent fence, it came ups in two days and assembly took all of 30 minutes, the instructions tell you to apply generous amounts of glue during assembly..if you do you will run out of glue before you finish, I predrilled the top then added screws not wanting to trust the glue to hold the top on with a $90 light mounted on it, A little white caulk will hide the screws, The wife is happy with it. thats what matters
