Likely a plumbing issue. Please email us info@vanityart.com for pointers.

Has anyone had any leaking issues?

Asked by Pat March 30, 2021
1
Answer

No. No leaking issues at all. We did not use the flexible drain hose that came with the tub. We used PVC because we didn't trust the flexible hose. My father is a home inspector and feels that the flexible hose would hold up for years without any problem, but we weren't comfortable with it. Does that complicate installation? Yes, it does. Do I regret our choice. Nope.

Can you add insulation so the water stays hot longer? If yes, what type of insulation do you recommend?

Asked by Sofl March 24, 2021

Answer

It hasn't been tested so can't say. We can say we sell hundreds of bathtubs each week and never received a complaint that they have trouble holding water temperature.

What is the angle of the backrest (i.e. the end of the tub you lean your back against) in this tub?

Asked by Meg March 23, 2021

Answer

115 - 121 Degrees

So I can use the flexible drain hose to plumb this to the RH/LH side? I am replacing a RH drain tub.

Asked by Phil March 22, 2021

Answer

I don't remember the measurements of the flexible drain hose. We preferred to use a pipe. From the "Instructions/Assembly" link in the listing: "We also include an optional flexible drain hose. If the optional flexible drain hose is needed for installation due to inability to move the floor drain or no underneath access, one end of the flexible drain hose attaches to the bathtub drain and the other end will need to be attached to the floor drain by using a transition piece that you can find at any home improvement store."

What is the best way/products to use for cleaning the tub?

Asked by Agonz March 7, 2021

Answer

Soft cleanser with sponge.

Do these tubs have any insulation?

Asked by Aburgess March 5, 2021

No but sell hundreds per week and never had a complaint that our bathtubs don't hold water temperature.

What a gorgeous tub! We were looking for a tub that wasn't too light in weight. It has modern lines, which I wouldn't normally describe as my style, but the curved ends just work for me. I included a pic of my whole bathroom (minus the mirrors, which I'm still working on) so you can see that its style is actually pretty versatile. I went with rectangular sinks in the vanities to add some cohesiveness to the design. We opted for using an island drop in drain kit, rather than the plastic hose that comes with the tub, because that just seems too flimsy. I originally ordered a freestanding faucet to go with the tub, but that didn't work at all for me or with the tub, so we went with the wall mount. Thank goodness Home Depot is so good with returns! The tub is the perfect size too! Love it!

The tub looks nice and was delivered timely. There are two issues: First, the strong smell that emanates from the bottom of the tub is offensive. I presume it will dissipate over time but is tough to handle when new. Second, it is odd to me that such a nice tub would include mickey mouse drain plumbing. The included flexible drain line is very flimsy, the threads jump when you tighten it, it leaked without teflon tape because the gaskets were a joke and the other end had no way to connect to standard ABS. My plumber and I got it to not leak (miracle) but I have no confidence that I will not have future water issues with this tub. Improved drain options are not readily available at Home Depot so the manufacturer really needs to step up and include a quality drain line. One more thing, it moves around on its feet if you bump it. I think the ability to move it is important but the feet should be more rubberized so it tends to stay put until you intentionally move it.

When you look at the cost of these tubs, this one was certainly a good price so I wasn't expecting it to be the highest quality but I will say I was surprised. Much nicer product than I was expecting. Really easy to install.

Truthfully we can only rate on Home Depot's shipping/service and the looks of the tub as we have not hooked it up or used it yet. So far, we are very pleased with pricing and looks of the tub. It is in a guest bath, so won't get used a lot. For the price, quality is quite good. Arrived a week earlier than scheduled. What I didn't realize when I ordered (but happy now) the niche it's in, because of the curve, will allow me ample room to clean under/behind. The only 'con' is that none of these mfr offer alternative hardware. We would have preferred brushed nickel for overflow & drain spout - but they are so small, don't truly notice.
