A: We're happy to clear things up, Maya. While once Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based Polyurethane has fully cured after 3 days it will no longer give off any harmful fumes or gasses, it is not considered food safe. We do not recommend applying to surfaces that will come in direct contact with food. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
A: We're happy to help, Peter. Yes, Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based Polyurethane can be applied to bare wood surfaces without needing to apply any previous finish. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
A: Thank you for reaching out. While Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based Polyurethane provides excellent protection to indoor wooden surfaces, we do not recommend applying to floors. The constant foot traffic can cause the polyurethane to crack and peel. Instead, we would recommend applying Rust-Oleum Varathane Water-Based Floor Finish. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Varathane-1-Gal-Clear-Matte-Water-Based-Interior-Polyurethane-2-Pack-286820/205926960 -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
A: Thank you for reaching out, Chris. Once Varathane Water Based Interior Polyurethane has fully cured, glasses and other objects will not leave a water ring. We recommend allowing the polyurethane to fully cure for at least 3 days before exposing to regular use. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14
