I tried this on a veneer strip on top of plywood (common in cheaper furniture) and it was a complete fail. I went to primer and paint instead for my veneer items after that. That worked like a champ!

The stain won't impact the durability of finish. You need to question the poly quality, in terms of it's durability.

This was the first time I had ever used this product and was very happy with the results. It was used on a Home Depot DIY Project "Easy Farmhouse Style Frame" and we were very happy with the end results. I would Highly Recommend this product.

If a piece of furniture has different types of wood, the stain blends all wood shades into one matching color. Adding extra coats darkens the shade more. Great product!
