I used the Mona metallic varathane stain and poly on my bedroom floor, it turned out beautiful. I know it's not recommended for floors, so I'm wondering if I should apply polyurethane for top coat or leave as is?

Easy to apply and dried to a beautiful and durable finish! The project was a faux beam fireplace mantel. The finish really highlighted the fake distressing in the lumber to give it an old beam look.

Good finish, but not as dark as the picture
I used this to refinish just the top of an antique table. It took about three coats and it wasn't quite as dark as the brochure, but the finish is nice and glossy and it works well with the rest of the table. It's oil based so It's not the easiest to clean up. Bought a paint brush from the dollar store which I wrapped in plastic wrap between coats and then threw the whole brush away after I was done.

              Right color match
The reason I bought it is the color conveniently matched the trim in our 1970 home and the brand has been around for years. I repaired and sanded the finish on old trim boards then applied two coats of this poly-stain to restore the finish. It looks great. Someday maybe we will replace all the trim and doors in the house but this worked to restore what is there. Follow the directions on the can... do NOT shake the can because that causes air bubbles, stir NOT shake.

We appreciate your feedback on the Rust-Oleum Varathane Stain + Polyurethane. You're correct, the more you add, you may lose a little of the grain. Unless this surface is very porous, it's likely that you'll only need one coat. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 1 Rustoleum
