I would think you could but I would also test something small and determine if it will work on your door. Best of luck.

Is this work on a photo collage?

Answer

We like the way you think! Rust-Oleum Parks Super Glaze Finish and Preservative is suitable for use on most surfaces. When applying to porous surfaces, like paper or bare wood, we recommend applying a thin coat first to seal before applying the flood coat. This will help prevent bubbles in the finish. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

Happy to help, Mike! Rust-Oleum Parks Super Glaze Finish and Preservative is suitable for use on a variety of surfaces, including smooth surfaces. Please keep in mind, this is an interior use only product and not recommend for use on surfaces that will be constantly immersed or exposed to water. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3

We appreciate your interest, Geoff. Rust-Oleum Parks Super Glaze is not suitable for us in areas exposed to high moisture levels or foot traffic. It will not be able to hold up well in that type of environment. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 5

I have used this particular Resin for several years now and it has yet to yellow when there are others that have yellowed on me.

I can tell you that I have mixed metallic pigment into it and it worked beautifully so I plan to try acrylic paint with it sometime soon and see if that works. A little worried that a water based chemical may not blend with epoxy or make it too "loose" But gonna try a test regardless. Hope this helps.

Can I use this on a tumble type yeti

Answer

Karly, our Rust-Oleum Super Glaze Pour-On Finish & Preservative works best when applied to flat, horizontal surfaces, as it self-levels and takes 4-5 hours to dry to the touch. This coating is also not recommended for contact with food or beverages. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Can this be applied with a brush?

Yes! I have used a sponge brush and paint brush. You have to work quickly and finish it with a heat gun, but you can do it.

How do I remove it? It is not setting up it sticky.

Asked by Meliss June 12, 2017

White Vinegar will remove it. I had a disaster one time with too much humidity and my painting "weeped" for weeks. Vinegar took the resin off the floor, and even took it off the acrylic painting but did not remove the paint. I figure I got lucky on that one.

I was very apprehensive about using this on the slab of wood recently installed as a bar top. Did one and a half of each bottle mixture to cover 9 square feet, used a spatula and brush to spread evenly and the run off at the edge. Took about 10-15 minutes total. Waited for 10 minutes and sort of smoothed out the bubbles and area that weren't covered as well. Very nice. Waiting for about 5 hours and will touch the sides to check curing. The pictures don't do it justice because it is very shiny and vibrant. Another great product and I have enough to finish two small stands. Thank you for this quick update to a plain piece of wood.

This is my first foray into super glaze coats and as expected, Varathane does not disappoint. It's a two part epoxy mix that creates a very thick coat over the finished project. You will need a heat gun (or a good hair dryer with a high setting) to help remove bubbles. I also found that putting on a coat of regular varnish to seal the wood, dong a light sand as prep resulted in the best finish, however it will work very well directly on a new project. Very happy with this very strong surface for my outdoor furniture!

Alot of work for the result.. the varthane gloss classic gray super glaze finish was an interesting choice for my cube top.. Thought it would be a easy task. You have buy the mixing cups, stir sticks etc then you have to mix part B three minutes and then mix them together for 3 minutes then spread it out etc..Then you have to stand around to smooth ou the drips etc. After one application I was diapointed. No gray at all. and there were splotches.. So I had to sand and do it all over again..I could have just put 10 coats of regular Varthane for less work.. good idea needs some work

My husband and I joined forces to take on this test run. He said he read the directions while I gathered what we needed including two scrap lumber pieces. I wanted to see what the tinted glaze looked like before launching into a project. Turquoise is a big commitment. I am so glad we did. The result was a pale blotchy colored board but it was nice and shiny! I read the directions and read comments by users as well as Varathane reps. I learned a lot. The directions must be followed with exact measurements and combining of the resin and activator. If that doesn't happen you get pale blotchy results. The directions say after the mixture is ready pour it on the surface and spread it out to a thickness of a penny. The mixture is self-leveling. I am going to have to figure out just how to do that. Varathane has produced quality products for a long time. This one should stand up to the rest.

This Super Glaze pour resin high gloss epoxy has an application learning curve, it's best to practice using it or watch instructional videos for appropriate usage. The tinted Aged Wood color is a grayish brown. Once quart covers an area 6.2 square feet so this 3-pack should cover 18 square feet of material. Accuracy and preciseness in the measuring and mixing step is key for successful results when using this product.

The Varathane 1qt. super glaze finish and preservative in aged brown and in turquoise is simple to use and the instructions are easy to follow. The odor generated from the epoxy resin wasn't too strong; the smell was in between latex and oil based paints. Hence, I didn't feel I needed a ventilated mask to breathe - just work in a ventilated area and I was fine. I did wear thick dishwashing gloves as I do with all resin projects to protect my hands. The aged brown color looks almost purple-brown when it pours out; likewise, the turquoise color looks a deep teal. If I wanted to achieve either the deep brown color or the deep turquoise color that's on the box, I would have to apply multiple coats of the colored epoxy to the surfaces - I was fine with one coat for my project. I didn't have many bubbles I needed to heat or pop; they went away on there own, which might be because I was working with smaller surfaces. After 24 hours, the resin project felt hard with just a little tackiness. After another 24 hours, I wiped down any remaining tackiness with rubbing alcohol.

I’m excited to try this product, normally I’m hesitant for the super thick one step type of things but this one’s a unique two-part epoxy type finish. I’ve had great success with two-part epoxies for other settings, they go on solid and stay solid for a while. The color scheme of this seems to be nice and I look forward to trying it on a project when the temps stay a little warmer.

This is something I've always wanted to try, but added something that didn't quite work the way I'd wanted; I made sure the mixture was really incorporated well before pouring, but I added some tint from acrylic paints as soon as I had the initial coat applied. I love the way it looks, but there are a lot of dimples in the surface. I am not certain if I should pour yet another 2 bottles of the glaze finish and go over them, perhaps just into those dimples, or to cover the entire surface - It is certainly an exciting project to attempt, and I did get some amazing effects, especially adding gold color! The gray is nice, but I thought, I'm a DIYer, shouldn't I give it a shot at some special effect? So I did..

They were not kidding when they said this is "super glaze"! One application produced a glass-like finish. It is relatively easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow, though I would say the instructions needed to be followed meticulously even when some of the instructions didn't make sense (don't ask "why?" Just follow the instructions). A couple of things to note is that (1) the turquoise color is pretty mild and not as dark as on the packaging (see my before and after pictures). (2) the finish really needs to cure overnight before you can touch it. I think the instructions say an average of 5 hours for curing to finish, though the timing is affected by the temperature (hotter will cure faster, though there is an operating temperature range that needs to be adhered to). Also, if the mixture of the two parts needed to prep the glaze is not exact according to the directions, it may not cure properly (i.e., remain sticky or gooey, etc.). My little test worked very well, though I had to let it cure overnight. While it was almost impossible to mix the glaze and the activator without creating bubbles, most of the bubbles did go away on its own while it was self-leveling, which was great.

One word. Impressed! In the past I have used many variations of epoxy products but this VARATHANE 1 QT. GLOSS AGED BROWN SUPER GLAZE FINISH AND PRESERVATIVE is a simpler to use product. I often work with older furniture that has scratches too deep to sand out and this product remedies those issues. The instructions are simple and easy to follow- 1:1 part mixture then mix three minutes and spread. The product has a minimal smell that allows its use in less ventilated areas. I definitely can see where this can have many uses on various surfaces. The application covered well and the end result is like glass . I am extremely happy with this product . Wow!
