I was in the metal-finishing industry for several years. If they're chrome plated you'll have some problems with lousy adhesion and peeling. If they're brass or brass plated I believe that lacquer might be a better choice. It would be a pretty difficult job if the fixtures were already installed on the sink, tub, or whatever. You might want to try and find an online forum for plumbers as this advice dept. doesn't have any means to go back and forth with people. I hope that this helps you and please stay safe.
No I think you're stretching it quite a bit
Take your time and be patient. I sprayed a second coat too soon and the first coat bubbled up. The Finish was not professional

I don't see why not. Fiberglass like wood is porous and this product worked well on the wood.
I applied it over some enamel spray paint with no issues other than a slightly brown tint.
