The Vector high frequency battery charger and maintainer is used to keep batteries in stored vehicles and battery applications at optimal capacity during the off season. Charges 6-Volt and 12-Volt AGM, GEL and WET batteries in RVs, specialty vehicles, antique and classic cars, marine deep cycle batteries, motorcycles, lawn mowers, ATVs, snowmobiles and personal water crafts. Slide the voltage selector switch to either 6-Volt or 12-Volt depending upon the battery you are charging. Connect the battery charger and maintainer with the included battery clips or battery ring terminals. Charging automatically stops when battery is fully charged or topped off and switches to float mode monitoring to maintain charge. Built-in circuit protection guards against overcharging, reverse polarity or short circuit and is ETL certified for performance and safety. The Vector BM315V battery charger and maintainer has a built-in mounting bracket for convenient placement and includes a limited 1-year manufacturer warranty.
6-Volt/12-Volt battery charger and maintainer compatible with all AGM/GEL/WET battery systems
2-ways to connect to battery for maximum convenience
Two days ago, I bought four (4) of these Vector battery maintainer(s) from the local Home Depot store (see attached sales receipt). Upon unboxing the first unit, I clicked the integrated red switch to 12 volts, plugged the unit into a source of 120 volts and connected it to a weak 12 volt automotive battery which was barely turning over my car engine. I saw a blinking green (not red) light on the battery maintainer which indicated the unit was working according to the included instructions. I came back the next morning expecting a steady green light indicating a fully charged status on the connected 12 volt automotive battery; instead the unit had no illuminated lights. I disconnected and reconnected the unit and then checked the 120 volt receptacle which was working fine. Then I remembered reading reviews about the short life of this battery maintainer. So I unboxed a second one, plug it in and connected it to a 12 volt automotive battery and the green light was blinking on this second unit. I checked the battery maintainer the next morning with the same exact result as the first unit... it appeared as dead as a doornail. Sooo, I unboxed a third unit, plugged it in only to see a flashing green light indicating a charging status on the connected 12 volt automotive battery... at this point, I'm expecting the same result!
Sooo, I have two brand new Vector battery maintainer(s) that lasted not even a day. After reading other similar reviews, I don't understand why this unit is being made sooo cheaply with what seems to be a built in failure rate...
Maybe the manufacturer assumes I'll just buy another one... yes, but it won't have the Vector name on it!
BTW: I included an image of the sales receipt in case anyone might doubt whether I actually bought four of these defective units...

The Vector charger has been working well for a few weeks and was a cost effective purchase. The only down side is having to set the component portion of the charging system on something vs it just plugging to the wall and only worrying about the cord. Minimal issue for me, but something to consider. It does appear to have mountable, but that may limit your overall reach distance.

This is a great little charger, its small enough that it takes up minimal space when not in use. I use the charger on a Lexus 450 when it sits in the garage all winter, come spring the battery is fully charged and it starts right up. If you are looking a charger that has the ability to give enough juice to start a dead battery, then this is not what you need, this is a charger/maintainer not a starter. Over all i am happy with and if it fits you needs you won’t be disappointed.

This Vector battery maintainer seems to be a capable, well made unit. It comes with the usual connections for clamping right onto the battery post for a short term charge or connecting underneath the nut and washer for extended use.
I hooked it up with the clamps to my snowmobile battery which I had neglected since the season ended 6 months ago. The green light flashes when the battery is charging and is solid when charged. Easy peasy.
As far as battery maintainers go, many look at the Battery Tender Jr. as the gold standard. I think the Vector Battery Maintainer is a worthy competitor.

What I like about this maintainer is that it doesn't deliver constant voltage/current charge, but rather pulsing with short duty cycle. Pulsing charge rejuvenates battery plates blowing off sulfate clusters from their surface. Usually significantly more expensive chargers/maintainers (like BatteryMinder) have this feature. Vector doesn't advertise this feature probably due to possible intellectual property/patent Infringement concern. Circuit is also very smart not to deliver the entire rated capacity to a weak battery from the start. I saw 0.69A out of 1.5A max rating. It was charging my severely depleted lawn mower battery for quite some time, but at the end vector switched indicated that it switched from charging to maintenance mode. The unit can be mounted on the wall and includes cable pigtail with terminals for permanent installation.

This is a small, easy to use charger to keep your batteries fresh and fully charged. I like the fact that the charger has holes to allow a permanent mounting if the situation requires it. The power cord and the charging cord is extra long to allow ease of connecting the charger. The clamps for the battery are heavy gauge and strong to insure a positive connection. Included is an extra cord to allow a permanent connection for a battery that is not mobile.

The Vector 6-12 volt battery charger and maintainer is perfect for my various electrical needs. Its got a great two corded feature that makes a user friendly charger, as like on my boat, I have the ring terminal screwed on to the battery for constant access. I use velcro to keep the charger locked in. When I need it for other charging , its a quick disconnect and used with the clamp cable. The dual volts are a plus and the trickle charge for winter is awesome for my boat and rv.

In the summer I like to keep my motorcycle on a battery charger/maintainer since l live in Arizona where the summer heat keeps you off the bike more than on. I haven't rode for a month and thought I would try this on my motorcycle. After connecting using the DIN connector I was able to charge up the battery in about 30 minutes and the Vector reached a temperature of 131.1 degrees. I then went to top off my back up battery in about 45 minutes using the supplied battery clamps and the Vector reached a very hot temperature of 161.7 degrees and it made one side of the battery to substantially bow outward. After a few hours of cooling the one battery side went down but not to normal. The charging procedure was pretty simple and I just needed to slide a switch to the proper voltage. I used the 12 volt setting for both batteries and this device is rated at 1.5 amps. I have another name brand battery charger / maintainer rated at 3 amps that I have used for two years with zero issues each and every time I have used it. What I didn't like about the Vector was the amount of heat that the unit generates and that it caused one battery to expand it's case. I am not sure if it did anything to the battery that is installed on the motorcycle since it would mean dismantling part of the bike to get to it and I have not had the time. I would like to give a favorable review but my experience doesn't warrant me doing so.

The Vector 6/12 volt battery mainfainer works as I would expect it to. The case appears rugged, but I wouldn't put it anywhere the elements may get to it, just the same. The jnit can tend both 6 and 12 volt varieties of batteries, making this ideal for lawn equipment, etc.
The display is easy to read / decipher. And the unit comes with enough wire to support a bunch of different configurations of equipment.
I have been using mine on my riding mower and plan to see how it does this winter while the mower isn't getting much use.
Unfortunately, I have only been using this for a few weeks, so any kind of longevity reports will have to be revisited at a later time. At least for the few weeks I have had it, the battery has stayed charged, and nothing has caught fire... so far, so good.
The only thing I don't like about the display is that when the unit is forst plugged in, the light flashes only once, then it seems to take a long time to do anything after that.

This was a very nice product to use. Simple construction and design. Nice long cord. Easy to read functionality of LED indicator. I’ve been using this to charge and maintain my lawn mower battery. Haven’t been cutting grass as much due to drought-like conditions, so the battery hasn’t been maintaining the charge.
This charger will do both 6V and 12V wet lead acid, gel, and AGM batteries with the flip of a switch. The quick connect couplers were nice for switching between terminals and clamps. It also has an indicator to notify that the polarity is backwards. The feature I especially love is the clamps are shielded 100% on the outside of them.
I tried to test time the time it took to go from drained to full charge but we experienced a power outage for 3 hours. At the time, it’s been charging for almost 10 hours and I’m sure would have started. By morning the light was solid and upon cranking I could tell the battery was fully charged. Perfect for winter storage use as well or for vehicles not driven much like my personal truck since I have a company truck.
