Great Product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband says it was easy to install and it has 3 different settings. Setting one is just the light and setting two is the light and low heat.
Setting 3 is the light with high heat. Heats garage well

Puts out a lot of good heat
Just finished installing the Ventamatic heater in my woodshop, and it starts up quickly and puts out a lot of heat. The pullchain control does four things: 1) Light ON only. 2) Light and one 750 watt element. 3) Light and both elements (total of 1500 watt). 4) Everything OFF. Overall, including the swivel bracket, it hangs about a foot from the ceiling and is almost two feet wide.
The Ventamatic 750-Watt/1500-Watt Dual Quartz Electric Indoor Ceiling Heater gives off quite a bit off heat. I have it mounted aiming toward my workbench in the garage. The way it is mounted it is behind me as I am working on the bench top. It is very easy to mount and hardware is included. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Once you mount the heater you are able to pivot the heater to aim it where you want the heat. The light isn't very bright, I use the light as a reminder that the heater is on.
This is a decent heater and works well. It has 3 settings and Off, that are accessed via a pull string. The 1st pull on the string is the the 25 watt halogen work light, the 2nd pull gives you the work light and low heat setting (where one of the two heater tubes is active), the 3rd pull gives you the high heat setting (where both heat tubes are active) the 4th pull shut off the unit and you start over. To show you what setting you are on, there is a rolling dial that shows 0, I, II, III, where 0 is off, I is the light, II is the light and low, and III is the light and high. The work light can be rotated from front to back and left to right, but it is not very bright and is mostly useless. And it would be nice if the light had a separate switch. The mounting bracket on the heater has to be installed before you can use it, which is quite easy to do, you just slide it in the side brackets on each side of the heater and install the 2 supplied screws, (one on each side) The brackets on the side of the heater where they connect to the U shaped hanging bracket are not well designed and kind of mush when you tighten the screws, however the do work. Once the heater is mounted you can angle the heater from about 45 degrees left to about 45 degrees right, there are about 10 or so detents to keep it angled where you want it. The Heat portion of the heater is very nice and works well, it is not going to quickly heat up a room but it is very nice to work or sit under, if you get much closer than 3 ft it is a little to hot on your head and over about 6 ft you don't feel a lot of heat. The two heat settings are 750 watt and 1500 watt. The cord is nice at about 6 ft long, the unit itself is about 24" long, 12" wide and about 3" thick, the mounting bracket spaces it about 12" down from the ceiling. All in all a decent heater, but a little flimsy, but it does work and heat well just don't expect much from the "work light"
I mounted this in my detached garage pointing down to the space in front of my workbench. As long as it is above zero, it lets me work in relative comfort. I still have to wear a coat, but it is a lot better then trying to work without it. The hardest part is that the tools are still cold.
For the most part, I like the heater. The part I don't care for is that you can not operate the heater without the light on. I have plenty of LED lighting. I don't need the light from the heater. The orange glow of the quartz heaters is more then enough to let you know it is on. This is why it didn't get 5 stars.
The Ventamatic750/1500 Watt Dual QuartzElectric Indoor Ceiling Heater in Black arrived and is a nice looking heater. It is going to go above my pole varn work bench at my cottage. I tried it out at home, and it does produce an adequate amount of heat, but a fan assist would be nice for my application. I will mount it on a wall, not a ceiling, in order to have it near to where I am working. It has a mounting bracket and is angle adjustable. I like the switchable wattage. It has a pull chain contol... ( on 750 W, on 1500 W and off).
This heater is nice because it has three different heat settings. The heater has a low #1, a medium #2, and a high #3 heat setting that you choose by pulling the pull cord located on the front, right side of the heating elements. The heater has a light on the left front side of the heater elements, so you know when the heater is on at a glance beside the elements glowing. The heater will not work if you install it upside down, I accidentally installed mine upside down is why I know this, I had to change it. The heater bracket is easily installed using the included hardware. I chose to install mine using the center mounting hole so that I could swivel it left and right. The heater is also able to be changed from flat down to various angles up to straight sideways. The cord is long enough that I was able to run it over a bracket to keep it off of the back of the heater.
Nice unit. Exactly what I wanted to do projects in my shed during the winter. With cord only six feet long I had to install the heater closer to the wall than I wanted but it still works well. I installed it directly over my work bench. After an hour with both elements running the plastic cover on the ends were still cool. The ceiling above the unit was 80 degrees. The walls were cool. Almost all the heat goes down. After one hour the plug at the outlet only reached 80 degrees. Will probably install a new outlet in ceiling to keep the cord out of the way.
Installation was easy. Bracket is a bit flimsy so had to use the two outer screws. Only planned to use the single center screw so I could rotate but didn't feel like it would work so used the to outer screws and will keep it in a fixed direction.
If it gets below 40 I would probably add a small floor heater as this unit mainly heats my upper half only. At least until it starts warming the room.
Its worth the price I think to have this up and out of the way. Puts the heat straight down where you want it.
I needed extra heat for the spare bedroom in my cabin. This small room is about 14 by 14 and doesn't leave must room for a conventional floor heater.
I liked the idea of suspending one from the ceiling and a quartz heater can generally heat an ample space at an economical rate. And as it turns out this was a great choice for this room. It heats it quickly and then can maintain a comfortable temperature at a lower setting.
I don't care for the halogen light as it's always on when the heater is in use. But the heater also has an orange light to indicate it's turned on. Therefore, I'd have preferred a separate switch to turn off the halogen light.
With 2 quartz elements this heater will warm up an area up to 150 square feet in about 45 minutes. I installed it in my workshop which is approximately 190 square feet, and it took about one hour to raise the temperature to a comfortable level. Installation is not difficult, but I am concerned with the strength of the mounting bracket; I plan to add a brace to the bracket. Since mine is mounted on the wall the bracket flexes when I adjust setting with the pull cord.
