HeTR 36 in. 1200-Watt Electric Patio Heater

This heater has come in handy for many situations. We originally purchased to use as a vendor at fall festivals to provide a bit of heat during setup on those chilly early mornings, but power was not frequently available. We discovered that it works great with a 2,000 watt portable generator and together provide a fantastic portable heating option for just about any location with or without power. When we are at home, it provides great warmth on the patio or in the garage. And when our heat quit working during a cold snap in January, it even did a pretty good job keeping our living room bearably warm for a couple of days. There isn't much control over temperature with this though. It reaches full glowing warmth within a few seconds of turning it on and stays at full heat until you turn it off. For cool outdoor situations this is perfect, but if used inside a garage or indoors it can be uncomfortably warm right beside the heater, and could eventually raise a well-insulated enclosed space to unpleasant temperatures. There is no timer or temperature shutoff, though a manual electric timer could be added to cut power after a certain amount of time. Overall, it is a good heating option for a variety of situations so long as a power outlet or generator is available close by.

What I like best about this unit is its ability to heat in a 360 degree radius if you have multiple people sitting around it. Other fan powered space heaters usually only heat in one direction which may leave some guests out in the cold! This unit also makes no noise whatsoever and is great for a quiet setting. This unit is marketed as a "patio" heater. I would caution against this. The unit can heat a small (120 sq ft or so) ENCLOSED area. If you have an enclosed porch or small garage, this would work for you, but this would not be ideal for an open patio or porch setting. It is just not powerful enough. Most electric heaters are not. Another criticism I have is that it only has one on/off switch and no other dials or switches for temperature customization. The heating coils can also get hot and there is no protective enclosure to protect you from that so be careful! One great safety feature is that it will shut off the heating coils if it is tipped over and then comes back on when corrected. I made a video of this. Overall, this provided a steady, pleasant heat source to a small area and is ideal if you have several people sitting around it as they will all benefit from the 360 degree heating feature.

It is starting to get cold around here and this heater will help me be productive in the garage. The assembly was very simple and took under 10 minutes. The heaters cord is not extremely long so a heavy duty extension cord will be needed if I want to put it in the center of my garage. The base is nice and heavy which makes it stand up sturdy without falling over. It has a nice handle on the top to pick it up and move it around. The heat is not adjustable, it is either on or off. I think if the device had a fan i would have given it 5 stars

This is a great space heater. It assembles easily, 2 screws and 4 washers put it together. The wrench for the screws is included. It took about 15 minutes to unpack and assemble. The heater is solidly built. It has a weighted base and the base is wide enough so it won't tip over easily. There is a built in tip switch that shuts off the heater when tipped. It heats 360 radius. Very warm and heated up the room 4 degrees warmer in a matter of 20 minutes or so. We are very impressed and are using it now in our living room to supplement the furnace now that it is starting to get cold at night in NYS. I only have one complaint. It is full on when turned on. There is no thermostat on this heater. I would not recommend leaving running full blast all the time because of the cost of electricity.
