you can use the saw and miter box that they have in the trim aisle. The cut will be rough but you can sand it and then caulk it to disguise the cut.

Yes, i use a PVC outside corner piece for trim. It's NOT part of the Veranda product but all Home Depots have them in stock in the PVC trim aisle.

Can you paint this product?

Yes. I recommend the Rustoleum 2X product. Rough up the Vinyl with some 220 grit sandpaper (LIGHTLY sand in one direction with long strokes to prevent scratches) and then wipe with clean dry cloth. Use another clean cloth with mineral spirits to get the last of the dust and other stuff. Let dry 10 mins or so. Paint horizontally to prevent runs. Follow direction on the can. Hope it helps

I wouldn't suggest it, as there is vinyl molding much cheaper and manufactured as window trim. The package you are asking about has one piece of chair rail and one piece of baseboard (with rubber strip). The profiles of these pieces are specifically NOTCHED to accommodate the wainscoting that is sold separately. Vinyl window trim for bathrooms is available at Home Depot and a much cheaper choice. Hope that helps.

I bought the trim and wainscoting from the same line. The process of install was super easy. The measuring around pipes and sinks in my small bathroom was what took the longest. Once I made all my cuts with my miter saw, the install literally took 20 minutes. The trim pieces made clean cuts but my saw area looked like it snowed all night. I used my finishing nail gun and no glue for the trim pieces and liquid nails glue for the wainscoting. The rubber flange of the baseboard trim faces upwards. I did have to cut the flange a little in the corners because two pieces coming together created a small "wad" of rubber. No problem, just used a utility knife to trim it back. The corners come together perfectly if you do two 45 degree angle cuts. The wainscotting fit perfectly in the corners without needing to cut. Just caulk the corners and it looks like all the pieces grew there together. I used an electric jig saw for the long wainscotting pieces (we don't have a table saw, which would have been a much better tool for the straight cuts). I did need the jig saw to create rounded edges to get around pipes and the sink. I initially started the project with a fine tooth hacksaw and said "forget it" after 10 minutes and making barely any progress on one cut. The color is more of an ivory. I wanted bright glossy white. I also wanted something that would stand up to moisture in my bathroom. The material of this makes it great for bathrooms but not great for painting. So, I used one coat of the Kilz High Adhesion (any bonding primer would work), then one coat of the Behr Ultra Pure White semi gloss and they came out so great. I waited to paint the wainscoting until they were up on the wall because it made rolling super fast and easy. Everything is bright and polished looking. While this was a fairly easy install, a small amount of experience with measuring and cutting would be helpful, or buy a little extra for the learning process. The curved cuts around objects were pretty time intensive and when it got to the area behind the toilet, it was also pretty uncomfortable. I felt like I was doing yoga half the time. I did this project entirely by myself as a 50 year old woman and it took me one full day to measure, cut, and prime. Then a couple of hours to finish the painting, do the install and caulk. Items I used: white bonding primer Behr Ultra Pure White semi gloss alex caulk in white finishing nail gun with nails liquid nails adhesive low nap microfiber 6" roller marked "best" paint brush to get in the curves of the trim Wall Paint was Marquee Satin Interior in "Shipwreck"

Be careful to not mark or scratch the vinyl during install. It is relatively soft. It installed easily and looks good when finished. I nailed it with 23 guage pins at the top and bottom. Walls should be relatively flat and square for best appearance.

With the exception of any miter saw cuts it’s very install to install and looks great. We needed a refresh in our kitchen and the wainscoting & trim kit did the trick. The Trim Kit works well with the Veranda Prefinished Reversible Vinyl Wainscot

The trim kit is the perfect complement to wainscot paneling. The molding is very hard to cut by hand so I do recommend using a power miter saw if you have one available. I made the cuts for the bottom molding by hand but now I have an oscillating multi tool I am going to try for the chair rail. I will clamp my molding in my regular miter box and use a combination blade for wood and plastic. The instructions recommend an adhesive like Liquid Nails & add finish nails if needed but I have nerve damage in my hands so it hard for me to handle a caulking gun; So I installed the bottom molding and panels using heavy duty permanent mounting tape. I may add a couple of finish nails to the molding where the wall is a little uneven but the mounting tape sticks very well. After a few minutes can not be pull off easily.... I included a picture. I am refurbishing a small half bath and am waiting on plumbing to be completed so I haven't yet installed all the panels or the chair rail.

It was not intuitive to me which was the baseboard and which was the top molding but after getting in touch with the company (try their Facebook page if you don't get them by phone) they gave me a decent photo and a link to the youtube video, which I looked for but could not find. The video-it's worth the four minutes... Just so everyone KNOWS the baseboard is the one with the rubber FIN on it, and the fin goes UP, so that the wainscoting can sit in front of that fin. That was not in the directions ANYWHERE. And to the lady that said it was static-y and attracting all sorts of hair/fuzz, try a dryer sheet-rub it all over...or some sort of anti-static cleaner... And you will have to miter the corners...these are not all flat-cut.
