how do you mix it your soil

AnswerBiochar should be mixed into the soil at 1 to 2 percent. Give it a light dusting on the soil, and then turn it in. A 1-lb bag will augment a 10'x10' garden -- nicely. For potted plants, I would put about a half teaspoon per plant. Gently water it into the pot without letting it flow underneath. Collect water from underneath the pot somehow, because you don't want to lose Biochar that way.
